The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 7 "Crossed"

GREATM
Glenn stands looking down the road. Tara has filled the water bottles with the last bit of water from the fire engine. Tara refers to the group as GREATM (it's all of their initials). Abraham is still kneeling on the road and Eugene is passed out in front of the truck. Glenn asks the rest of the group if they should take Eugene back to the church but Maggie says moving him would make him worse. He needs to wake up. Rosita tries to get Abraham to drink some water. He won't, he doesn't even want to look at her. He stands up and looks at her menacingly. Maggie pulls her gun out and tells him to "Sit down or I'll put you down." He sits back down.

Glenn, Rosita, and Tara go to a nearby creek to get water. Maggie stays behind to take care of Eugene and keep an eye on Abraham. At the creek they encounter some zombies trapped under a collapsed pole. Tara defends Eugene to the rest of them. His only skill was his ability to lie and he used it to survive. They can't get mad at him for that. Glenn disagrees. Maggie uses a ladder and a blanket from the fire engine to create a kind of tent over Eugene to protect him from the sun. She tells Abraham to get over himself. "It's never going to get any better than this." The water in the creek is really dirty. Rosita makes a water filter out of her shirt. Eugene taught her how to do it. She was with other people during the apocalypse. One day her group was fighting off zombies and Abraham jumped out of his truck and helped them. Eugene was already with him. He asked for her help to save the world. Glenn notices some ripples in the water. There are fish in the creek. Glenn, Tara, and Rosita kill the trapped zombies and take their jackets. They rip the netting off of the jackets. Tara grabs a bag found near the zombies. Glenn and Rosita catch fish using the netting. He asks Rosita if she is in with the group. She is in. Maggie offers Abraham some water. She asks if he wanted her to shoot him. He thought he did, but he didn't. They hear groaning. It's Eugene. He is awake. Abraham grabs the bottle of water.  Glenn and the rest return.

The church group
Sasha (wearing Bob's jacket) is chopping up a pew in Gabriel's church. Tyreese and Daryl take down the organ pipes and place them outside of the front of the church as a fence against the zombies. The rest are outside hammering boards over the windows. Rick tells Michonne that Noah wants to go back to Atlanta but he can't have that, but he says he owes it to Carol. He owes her more than anybody (she did forgive him for kicking her out of the group and told no one about it).  Rick says goodbye to baby Judith and Carl. He hands Judith to Michonne and leaves with the rest of the group to rescue Beth and Carol. Judith cries. Carl and Michonne hammer a piece of wood over the front door to keep the zombies out. Gabriel walks over to the spot where Gareth was killed and scratches at the blood stains with his hands.

Gabriel is scrubbing the church floor. Carl puts down a bunch of weapons on the floor. He tells Gabriel to pick one. He will teach him how to use it so he can defend himself. He replies that the Terminus group said they would go. Carl tells him they were liars and his group was just defending themselves. He tells Gabriel he is lucky his church has lasted this long. "You can't stay in one place anymore. Not for too long." Gabriel picks up a machete. Gabriel changes his mind as Carl explains to him how to hold the machete properly to drive it into a zombie skull. He goes to lie down. Michonne checks in on Gabriel. She knows all of this is new for him. She wanted him to know that the things they do are worth it. She doesn't want anything from him. She is just trying to help. He closes the door, takes the machete and cuts the floor boards. He pulls them up one by one.Gabriel makes a hole big enough to fit in and crawls out from under the church. He steps on a nail as he is leaving. He limps away from the church and into the woods. Gabriel encounters a female zombie in the woods. He fights her off and she gets staked through the middle. As he is about to hit her with a big rock he sees her crucifix and walks away.

Beth
Back in the hospital Beth walks into Carol's room. Dawn gets mad at an officer who is still looking for Noah. The officer asks if they are going keep wasting their limited resources on Carol. Beth gets mad and says he wastes electricity charging his DVD player. Dawn says that they will take Carol off life support. Then she tells Beth is her fault if Carol dies. She has to side with the officers.  She tells Beth it is up to her to save Carol. She gives her the key to the medicine locker (not even Dr. Edwards has access to it). Over the radio a police officer can be heard notifying Dawn that shots have been heard. She tells the officer to take another cop with her and investigate. Beth asks why she is doing this? Dawn tells her that Beth has proven she is not weak. Beth knocks on Dr. Edwards's door. She asks him what medicine he would give Carol. He realizes she has the key to the medicine cabinet. He tells her if Dawn gave it to her it was not out of kindness. Then he tells her what medicine to give Carol. Beth walks down the hall with some strawberries in her hand that she gives to another ward. He creates a diversion while she grabs the medicine for Carol out of the cabinet. She walks over to Carol's room and puts the medicine in an IV for her. She grabs Carol's hand and lets her know that she is there.

Rick's Army
Tyreese and Sasha sit in the back of the truck on the way to Atlanta. Tyreese tells her he knows what she is going through (he dealt with Karen's death). She cuts him off. She doesn't want to hear it this moment. Rick tells the group his rescue plan. They will wait until dark and fire two shots to bring out the cops on patrol. Then they will sneak in and kill any guards they encounter so they can keep the upper hand. They are not expected. He wants to do this quietly and efficiently. He assigns everyone a spot in the hospital and tells them to kill whoever is there. He will take care of Dawn. He says the rest will hopefully give up once they see what is going on. Noah says the wards will help them. Tyreese asks what is the worst case scenario? He suggests they kidnap two cops and do an even trade. Rick says Tyreese's plan might work but his plan will work. Daryl backs Tyreese up. Dawn is barely keeping it together.

Two cops drive down Atlanta chasing after Noah. They corner him and he surrenders to them. One of the cops asks where are the zombie he was shooting at? Out comes Rick and the gang. Rick tells them to put their guns on the ground and kneel. One of the cops asks Rick if he used to be a cop. He noticed how Rick talked and carried himself. Noah says that cop (Lamson) is one of the good ones. Out of nowhere another cop car comes. The cop shoot at the group and rescue the two officers. Rick and the gang follow the car to a site where the napalm bombs fell. Half melted zombies lie stuck to the floor. They see the abandoned cop car and the cops running away. Daryl sticks around to investigate while the rest chase after the cops. He is tackled to the ground by one of the officers. Zombies crawl towards him. One of the zombies almost bites his head. Daryl grabs at the head of one of the zombies, grabs it by the eyeballs and uses it to hit the cop. Rick comes up and points a gun at the cop. The cop stands up and Rick looks like he is about to shoot the man when Daryl calls to him and says that three is better than two.

Rick and the gang march the police officers to an abandoned building. The female officer says there plan would work if they had different cops to trade. She says that a bunch of the cops want Dawn out and want to replace her with Lamson. Dawn might know about their plan. She suggests they let them go then they will take care of Dawn and release their friends (Beth and Carol) and they can go their separate ways. Lamson says they are not going to do that. Their plan will work if they are able to talk to Dawn. He says he knows Dawn and he is interested in peaceful resolution and offers to help. Daryl calls Rick over to talk to Lamson. Tyreese and Sasha pack up their car. Sasha rips Bob's jacket. She gets angry. Tyreese tells her that she got to say goodbye to Bob. She is angry with herself for not being able to kill Bob after he died. Tyreese said that she allowed him to help her. They hug.

Lamson tells Rick that Dawn will say that she won't make a deal or compromise but she will. She always does. Rick asks if Lamson needs anything. He needs water. Rick offers to get him one and thanks him. Lamson says his name is Bob and that all the real cops are gone. Lamson tells Sasha that he knew one of the zombies they walked passed in the parking lot. The zombie was Tyler. They were sent down to deal with the evacuation. Dawn switched Lamson for Tyler and the napalm bomb hit Tyler instead. Sasha offers to help him by shooting Tyler. If he tells here where he is she will shoot him from the building. Lamson and Sasha walk to the side of the building where zombie Tyler is outside. He tells her where Tyler is. She puts her rifle to the window and he attacks her from behind and runs away.

The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 6 "Consumed"

"Everything now consumes you."

Flashback of what happened to Carol after Rick told her she had to leave the group back in season 4. She sits in her car crying. She yells at a zombie to go away and then drives off. She holes up in an old police station and lights a candle. She looks out the window and sees smoke. She drives to the prison and sees the destruction the Governor left. Now we see Carol and Tyreese burying Lizzie and Mika. Carol burning Karen and Dave's bodies at the prison. Now we see Carol as she leaves Terminus after helping Rick and the gang escape. She is walking away through the woods alone. She wipes off the zombie blood and grabs her things as smoke billows through the trees.

Daryl and Carol are in the car following the car with the crosses on the back windshield. Daryl tells Carol about what happened to Beth the night she was taken. Daryl wants to follow the other car and see what kind of people they are. They are heading north on I-85 towards Atlanta. They drive down the same highway that Rick rode his horse through in the pilot. The car stops, someone gets out (they are wearing a police uniform) they grab what looks like a bicycle and some other object. The man looks over to Daryl's car because a zombie is banging on the window. He gets back into his car and they drive away. Daryl's car is out of gas. Carol says she knows a place where they can stay until sun up. They break into the building as zombies make their way towards them.

They push furniture against the door and use the keys they got off of a dead body to make their way deeper into the building. Carol tells Daryl the place is temporary housing. We see a book titled "Treating Survivors of Childhood Abuse" on a desk. Carol came with Sophia but never stayed. She offers to keep first watch while Daryl sleeps. He says the place is locked up tight so they can both sleep. She brings up the conversation they had a couple of episodes back where Daryl says they get to start over. She asks if he has started over. He says he is trying. He asks her what's on her mind and she says that they don't get to save people anymore. Then why is she here? She's trying. He asks her what she would have done if he hadn't shown up (when she was getting ready to leave two episodes back). They hear a noise and go to investigate. They see two zombies, one is a child, scratching at a door. Carol goes to kill them but Daryl tells her she doesn't have to. The next morning Carol wakes up to see smoke outside of the window. She goes outside and sees that Daryl is burning the bodies of the two zombies they found the previous night. He carries the child's wrapped body and places it in the fire. Carol thanks him.

Carol is packing her bag and we see she is still carrying the copy of Tom Sawyer that she was reading with Lizzie and Mika. They decide to find a tall building to see who is out there. Daryl sets a legal pad on fire to distract the zombies. They run up a parking garage into the building. We see someone in the garage following them. They stumble upon a camp site in the building. Walkers are trapped in their sleeping bags and tents. Daryl kills the walkers in sleeping bags but leave the tent walkers alone. They are still being followed by someone. They find an empty office. They look out the window into a desolate waste land that is now Atlanta. Carol asks, "How did we get here?" Daryl's response, "We just did." Carol wonders why he never asked her about what happened to the girls. He says he knows what happened, they're not there (it's obvious to him they died). Carol says it was worse than that. He looks at her and tells her, "The reason I said we needed to start over is because we gotta." He spots something out the window. He uses the scope on the rifle to look out and we see a van with the same crosses on the windows on a bridge. They are going to investigate it since it is their only lead. As they leave they encounter Noah who has Carol's gun (since she decided to push it out the door before she walks backwards out of it, rookie move, Carol). He tells Daryl to give him his crossbow. He orders them to back up and then takes their weapons, apologizes to them for stealing their stuff, rationalizes his actions by saying they look tough, and then slices open a zombie filled tent so he can get away. Daryl and Carol kill the zombies. Carol aims her hand gun at Noah but Daryl stops her from shooting. She says she was not going to kill Noah but rather was aiming for his leg. He says that Noah was just a kid and they can find more weapons. Carol says that she doesn't want to see him die, or Beth, or anyone at the church but she can't stand by and watch it happen. That is why she left. Daryl gets mad and says, "You ain't somewhere else. You're here. Tryin'." Carol responds, "You're not who you were and neither am I." She grabs his bag and the book about childhood abuse falls out of it.

They arrive at the van on the bridge. It looks like it's been there for awhile. They climb in the back to investigate. Zombies slowly make their way towards them. They look through papers trying to get clues as more zombies come towards them. Daryl finds the letters GH on a gurney and Carol says it might be Grady Memorial Hospital. As they get out of the van they are overrun by zombies. They climb back in, get in the seats, and fasten the seat belts. They lean forward and cause the van to go over the edge. They survive the fall. Several zombies fall on the top of the van. I guess they tried to follow their food source over the edge. Carol's arm is injured. They walk back towards the city.

Carol shows him her injury and says she has had worse. He says that was stupid. She mentions they are only three blocks away from the hospital. They are going to find a place nearby to see what they can see. They walk into a building and Daryl takes a machete from a zombie and uses it to kill it. They look out the window to the hospital. He says that earlier she mentioned that he is different now than how he was before. He asks her, "How was I?" She says, "It's like you were a kid. Now you are a man." He asks, "What about you?" She says that she and Sophia stayed at that shelter but went back home after a day and a half. She kept praying for something to happen. But she didn't do anything. Who she was with Ed got burned away (the image of fire used again in this episode) and she was happy about it. At the prison she got to be who she always wanted to be and should have been but that person was also burnt away. "Everything now consumes you." "Well hey, we ain't ashes" responds Daryl. They hear a sound and go to investigate. They find a zombie with one of Daryl's arrow through its throat. They find Noah pushing a large bookcase against a door. Daryl run at him and they fall. The bookcase falls on Noah. A zombie starts to make its way out of the door Noah was trying to barricade. Noah tells them he was trying to protects himself and that he wasn't following them. Daryl grabs a pack of cigarettes and lights one. Noah begs for their help but Daryl says they already helped him once so they won't be helping him again. Daryl walks away but Carol wants to help. Daryl says they almost died because of him and walks away. The zombie makes it through the door and is on top of Noah when an arrow slices through its head. Daryl wasn't going to let Noah died. He just wanted Carol to decide that she wanted to help. The arrow was already making its way to the zombie as Carol turned one last time to get Daryl to help Noah.

Daryl and Carol lift the bookcase off of Noah and he thanks them. Daryl asks if Carol is okay and she says, "I'm still here." Noah keeps saying they are going to come. He says the people at the hospital are going to come looking for him. Daryl asks if he has seen a blond girl and Noah tells him he knows Beth and that she helped him escape but she is still at the hospital. Carol says they are coming. Noah leads them to another wing. Carol walks out the door and is hit by a car driven by the hospital police. Daryl wants to get her but Noah stops him. He tells him that the hospital has a doctor and medicine and that they can help her. Noah says they can get her back. Daryl asks what is it going to take. Noah responds they have a lot of guns and people. Daryl says, "So do we." Daryl starts another fire to distract some zombies. The two of them make their way to a large truck and drive away back to the church. So now we know for sure that Noah is the one in the woods with Daryl.

Compare how much Atlanta has deteriorated since the pilot. Welcome to Deadlanta.

Final thoughts
- A lot of fire/smoke in this episode. The imagery is used several times throughout. Yvette Nicole Brown mentioned on the Talking Dead how Carol sees a lot of the fire and Daryl lights a lot of fires. Fire at the shelter, the legal pad, and the cigarette. Carol keeps mentioning that several versions of herself have burnt away. Daryl says that they are not ashes.
- Even now Daryl is still trying to deal with the abuse from his childhood. I think it is a good thing that he took that book. Maybe it will help him heal.
- "What are you waiting for and what are you fighting for? These real world challenges and mental challenges still exist. They always will in that world. I especially like the teetering of the van. I took that as very symbolic of the teetering of the mental states of these characters sort of teetering." from an interview with Melissa McBride for Entertainment Weekly.

The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 5 "Self Help"

Abraham and his group are on the bus on their way to DC. Tara teases Eugene about his mullet. She asks him what's wrong. He says he was thinking about what Gabriel did.  Maggie is hopeful that Rick and the gang are making their way to DC. Maggie and Glenn ask Eugene the cure and how long it will take. He gives them a vague explanation. Still claiming it is classified. Glenn asks Eugene why he has that particular hairstyle. Eugene simply replies that he likes it. As they pass a group of zombies on the road something goes wrong with the bus and it flips to the side. The zombies approach the bus.

Back at the bus everyone is getting up and getting ready to fight the zombies before the bus catches fire. Tara is tasked to stay with Eugene and come out when it's clear. Tara tells Eugene he has to be brave and gives him a knife. Eugene looks terrified and just stands there looking at everyone killing zombies. A zombie comes up behind Tara. Eugene stabs it in the back and Tara finishes it off. Abraham's hand is bleeding. An old cut opened up. Just as Maggie is about to get the first aid kit from the bus it catches on fire. Eugene suggests that they go back to the church. Abraham replies angrily that they don't go back. Glenn tries to calm him down and make sure he is okay (because Abraham is acting cray cray). Tara suggest they find some bikes since bikes don't burn. Eugene walks over to the zombie he stabbed and spits on it.

The group breaks into a bookstore and secure it for the night. Abraham hums the entire time. Rosita sews up Abraham's hand. Abraham thanks Glenn for showing up. Glenn says they made a deal. As Abraham looks out a window at the zombies outside he says, "Gotten to the point where everyone alive is strong now. We have to be.You're either strong and they can help you so you can help them or you're strong and they can kill ya. So you gotta kill them . . . It's the easiest thing in the world now." Glenn asks if the world is going to change and Abraham replies it is.

Abraham and Rosita are having sex. Rosita sees that Eugene is spying on them again. He is standing in the self help section. Tara pulls Eugene away and thanks him for having her back when they were fighting the zombies by the bus. He saved her life. He confesses to her that he caused the bus crash. He put crushed glass in the fuel line. He meant to stop the bus before it even left the church. She asks why he did it. He tells her he can't survive on his own. If he can't save the world than he has no value. He says they wouldn't keep him around if he was of no value to them. Tara says they would because they are friends. They have each other's backs. She tells him not to tell anyone else about what he did to the bus. She will keep his secret. He says he doesn't know why he told her. She replies, "I do. Welcome to the human race, asshole," Then they fist bump. Apparently Tara really likes to fist bump. Glenn asks Maggie if she is thinking about Rick and the others.  She feels guilty. He tells her they get to have little vacations. She says, "It feels really good having this because it is not about what was. Not last night. It's all about what's gonna be." Glenn tells her not to feel guilty about that. Abraham stands at a window looking out at the zombies roaming outside.

Rosita wants to stay at the bookstore for the day so they can rest. Abraham doesn't want to. He accuses her of wanting them to sit around. Maggie says the store would make a good base. They could stay one more day and sweep for supplies. Rosita changes her tune and says they will continue, like they always do. Abraham says they have a vehicle that has 500 gallons of water on it. He looks out the window at a fire truck. The truck starts and Abraham is happy things are finally going their way. They go a few feet when the engine stops. The door at the fire station opens. A tire rolls out of the door. Zombies start pouring out of the station. The group start killing the zombies. Eugene starts spraying the zombies from a hose on the roof of the truck. The zombies go down one at a time. Abraham climbs on the truck and begins to laugh. On the floor next to the truck is written, "Sick inside. Let them die."

The truck is now broken down on a road. Abraham hums as he tries to fix it. Eugene is reading an H. G. Wells book. Maggie says she know why he has the haircut. She thinks he likes if for a reason. "You're not the person people think you are. You want 'em to know who you are." She says he is not like everyone else. Others at the lab would have given up. He is not like Samson (Tara compared him to Samson earlier on the bus). She tells him the story of Samson. How the riddle Samson tells was only something in his head. There was no way anyone could have known the answer. Glenn calls out about the smell. Farther up the road they see a lot of zombies in the fields. That is the source of the smell. Abraham says he will not back down or abandon ship. Abraham wants to keep going down the road but no one else does. He keeps saying he won't go back. Glenn only wants to go south a few miles. Abraham insists they can get through. Rosita says no. She agrees with everyone else. She doesn't agree this time with Abraham. Abraham grabs Eugene by the arm and starts leading him down the road. Glenn tries to stop him and Abraham pushes him away. Eugene screams that he is not a scientist. He lied. He doesn't know how to stop the zombiepocalypse.

Everyone stares at Eugene. Rosita says she has seen the hings that he can do. He says he knows things. He is smarter than most people and knows he needs to get to DC. He wanted to survive and that it was justifiable to trick people to get him there since they would be safe there too. Rosita mentions that people died to get him there. He knows. He lists all of their names. He lost his nerve as they got closer and the risk of exposing the truth made him do things like sabotage bus. He mentions that he is smarter than them and Abraham starts punching him. Eugene falls to the floor. Abraham goes to hit him again but Rosita puts her hand on her gun. Abraham looks at his bloody hand and walks away. He falls to his knees. A soldier without a mission, without a reason to go on. Eugene's face is covered in blood and he is unresponsive.

Flashback to the early days of the zombiepocalypse. Abraham is beating a man to death with a can. He calls out to someone called Ellen. He finds a woman (Ellen) and two children. As he approaches Ellen the children hide behind her. He is covered in blood. He tells them they are safe now, he stopped them. They don't have to be scared now. But Ellen and the children look terrified. He notices that he is covered in blood. Abraham wakes up from troubled sleep and calls out to Ellen and the kids. He finds a note that reads, "Don't follow us." Abraham goes outside and find his family dead. Eaten by zombies. He grabs his gun and puts it in his mouth. He is stopped by screams from Eugene asking for help. He tells him to get them and thanks Abraham. He tells Abraham he can't leave because he has a very important mission.

Final Thoughts
- I figured Eugene wasn't a scientist. He kept saying that everything was classified and that seemed like a red flag. There was no reason for him to be so secretive.
- According to the actor that plays Abraham. The people that Abraham killed in the flashback were his neighbors that had raped his wife and children.
- Abraham followed Eugene because as a military man he needed a mission. With his family dead the mission to DC gave him something to live for.
- According to the actor who plays Eugene back in season 4 when Eugene shot the military truck it wasn't an accident. He was also trying to delay arriving in DC and having to face the truth.

The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 4 "Slabtown"

No one's comin'.

Beth wakes up in a hospital room. She walks to the window and we see a decimated Atlanta. She bangs on the door and we can hear someone coming. A doctor and a police officer come in. Dr. Edwards and Officer Dawn Lerner. Dr. Edwards tells her she is in Grady Memorial hospital in Atlanta. Some of their officers found her on the side of the road surrounded by zombies. They rescued her and brought her to the hospital. She asks about Daryl but she was found alone. Officer Dawn tells her that she now owes them for her rescue.

Dr. Edwards shows her around. He allows a patient to die on Dawn's orders since he didn't show enough signs of improvement. Beth helps take the body to be disposed. They throw the body down an elevator shaft where it will be consumed by zombies that overran the basement. Beth meets another officer in the cafeteria. He tells her that he was one of the officers that rescued her. His name is Gorman. He wants her to thank him for the rescue and threatens to write down all of the food she is taking. Everything here has a price. Beth stops serving herself food and walks out.

Dr. Edwards complains that he no longer has any research to do. Beth's response, "If you feel safe enough to be bored. You're lucky." He offers her some of his food, guinea pig. Dr. Edwards has a Caravaggio painting. He tells her, "Art isn't about survival. It's about transcendence. Being more than animals. Rising above." They are interrupted by a new arrival. Gorman whispers something to Dawn and she orders Dr. Edwards to save the man even if it wastes their resources (which he mentions she doesn't like to do). Dawn asks if the man will survive. Dr, Edwards angrily replies that he can't save the man and it was a waste of resources. Dawn slaps Beth.

As Dr. Edwards finishes cleaning up Beth's wound she asks if Dawn is always like that. Yes. She also likes things neat so a clean shirt has been brought for Beth to change into. Beth finds a green lollipop inside the new shirt. A girl with a bite on her arm is brought in. She doesn't want them to help her. She kicks at Gorman. Dawn makes Beth help hold the girl down as they cut off her arm. The girl, Joan, yells at Dawn that she can't control them.

Beth goes to drop off her newly bloodied shirt and meets Noah. He does the laundry. He is also the one who left her the lollipop. She asks how long he has been there. A year. No one has been able to work off their debt yet. He was with this dad when he was rescued. They left his dad behind because he was bigger and stronger and posed a threat. Dawn's barely in charge. He is planning his escape. "They think I'm scrawny. They think I'm weak. They don't know shit about what I am, about what you are."

As Beth is working on cleaning Dawn brings her a tray of food. Beth has no intention on staying any longer than they make her. Dawn tells her this isn't a sentence. Food, shelter, and protection have never been free. Beth says she never asked for their help. Dawn wants Beth to look at the good they are doing. She believes that the life they had before is not over and that when they get rescued they will need to rebuild. "We all have to contribute. If we take we give back. It's only fair." She tells Beth she has to eat or she'll get weak and won't be able to do her job. Beth takes a bite of food.

Beth hums as she cleans the blood from Joan's room. Joan tells her she likes the humming. Joan says that Dawn can control them (the other officers) but chooses not to because it is easier. Beth asks what Gorman did to her but Joan refuses to answer. "I guess it's easier making a deal with the devil when you are not the one paying the price." Why doesn't Beth ask her any questions? She should try to find out why Joan was so desperate to leave.

Beth looks under her bed for the lollipop but it is missing. Gorman comes in and pulls the lollipop out of his pocket. He puts it in his mouth and tells her she should have a taste. She says she doesn't want it but he basically shoves it in her mouth. Pervert. Dr. Edwards comes in and puts a stop to the creepiness. Gorman's response to Dr. Edwards interference is, "The girl should have been mine." He's going to get Joan back. Dawn won't stop him. Dr. Edwards says he will stop him. He threatens to withhold medical care. Beth asks Dr. Edwards why he stays. He takes her to the ground floor. He tells her there is not way out. He bangs on the grated door and zombies come at the door. He then takes her to the roof. He tells her that when it all started Dawn was supposed to evacuate the hospital. Then
they heard the bombs. Everyone they evacuated died. They stayed their until food ran out. Then they started to go on runs. They would pass people that needed help and ignored them. One day he couldn't ignore those in need anymore so he struck a deal with Dawn. They would help those in need and the people would pay them back by working. Dawn took over after her boss cracked. She kept them alive. "As bad as it gets it's still better than down there." He tells her to check on the new patient and give him some medicine. Beth mixes the medicine and injects the man. Noah comes in the room. The patient begins to seize and then he dies. Dawn acuses Beth but Noah says he accidentally unplugged the machines. Beth tells Dr. Edwards that the man started seizing after she injected him. He tells her that she gave him the wrong medicine but Beth knows that is a lie. Dawn takes Noah to his office and beats him.

Dawn tells Beth she knows that it was Beth's fault. She says she had to beat Noah. A good man's mistake almost destroyed everything (he former boss) and she won't let that happen again. "Every sacrifice we make needs to be for the greater good." She tells Beth she is not the greater good. She is not strong enough. The wards (those rescued) keep her officers happy and that helps them keep going so they will protect them. There have been compromises and after the rescue they will help build the world anew. Outside of the hospital she is nothing. Either dead or someone else's burden. "Some people are not made for this life and that is okay. As long as they don't take advantage of the ones who are." Dawn is cray cray.

Noah tells Beth he is okay. He tells her he knows that Dawn needed the patient for something and that is why she reacted like that. He says she is trapped too. Beth tells Noah she is going with him when he escapes. He tells her the best way out is through the basement. He will keep Dawn occupied while Beth steals the key to the elevator from her office. Beth looks through filing cabinets and finds someone's wallet. She looks around the desk and finds Joan dead. She killed herself. She continues to look for the key and finds it in a drawer. As she is getting ready to leave Gorman walks in. She lies that Dawn asked her for a key. He calls her out on her lie and tells her he won't say anything if they can work something out. Beth notices Joan is starting to come back as a zombie so she lets him grope her. Then she hits him over the head an pushes him to the ground where zombie Joan gets her revenge by munching on his neck. Beth grabs his gun and leaves.

Beth walks down the hall and runs into Dawn and Noah. She tells Dawn that Joan was looking for her in her office. She and Noah walk to the elevator. Screaming can be heard down the hall. Noah has a rope of towels that he uses to lower Beth down the elevator shaft. As he climbs down a zombie reaches out from another elevator door and he falls into the basement. Beth jumps in after him. They make their way through the zombie filled basement. Beth shoots as many as she can. She makes a headshot every time. She has gotten good with the gun. They make it outside and run past several cars (with the crosses on the back windshield). Zombies come towards them. Beth looks back at a limping Noah. She goes ahead and starts shooting zombies Noah runs past her to the gate. She gets surrounded but the officers shoot the zombies. An officer tackles Beth to the ground. She smiles as she sees Noah escape.

Dawn gets mad at Beth for Gorman's death. Beth tells her that he attacked her just like he attacked Joan and that she (Dawn) let it happen. Dawn's excuse is so they can make it. Beth tells her, "No one's comin'. We are all going to die and you let this happen for nothing." Dawn grabs a picture frame and hits Beth with it.

Dr. Edwards patches Beth up. She asks him how he knew the patient was a doctor and that's why he told her to give him the wrong medicine. He knew the other doctor. They would have kicked him out and Gorman would have killed him. He compares himself with Peter denying Christ. He didn't have a choice just like Peter didn't have a choice. Beth grabs some scissors from his office. She walks with them in her hand towards Dr. Edwards. They wheel in a new rescue. It's Carol!!

Final Thoughts
- Why didn't Beth and Noah try to steal a car?
- For a moment there I thought Beth was going to pull a Shane and leave Noah as zombie bait.
- Beth is finally ready to fight. She is having none of this hospital from hell crap. And now she has Carol. I can't wait to see how those two work together to escape.
- The Caravaggio painting in Dr. Edwards office is "The Denial of Peter"
- I new not to trust Dr. Edwards. He was too nice from the get go.
- I think Noah is the person in the woods with Daryl. Hopefully the gang will be able to help Beth and Carol escape rape hospital.

The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 3 "Four Walls and a Roof"

Nightmares end. They shouldn't end who you are.

Juxtaposition of zombies clawing at a wall and the Terminans eating Bob's leg. Gareth talks to Bob. They marked their way to their present location from Terminus so they could go back. He explains that he was going to give the gang a choice, "Join us or feed us." He talks about how bears eat their young when they are starving. He says that one of them saw Daryl and Carol leave. He really wants to eat Carol. His brother had a theory that women tasted better because of the extra layer of fat. Bob starts to cry. Gareth gets mad at him.  He says, "I am being human here. I'm talking to you." Bob starts to laugh. Bob calls them idiots and tells them he was bitten by a zombie and that he is tainted meat. Maniacal laugh. Maniacal laugh.  The Terminans start throwing up and freaking out about eating Bob's tainted meat.  Gareth says they'll be fine because they cooked the meat well.

Sasha is alone in the woods with a rifle with night vision scope looking for Bob.  The tree closes to her has the mark the Terminans left. Tyreese and Rick come up behind her. Rick mentions that Daryl and Carol are also missing. Inside the church Maggie looks down at a Bible and sets it next to her on the pew. Sasha comes in and gets angry at Gabriel. She keeps asking what he is doing.  She says it is all connected. He shows up and all of a sudden they are being watched and three of their group are missing. He insists he has nothing to do with it. Gabriel insists he is alone. Rick asks what he did. What is he going to burn for? Gabriel answers that he always locked the doors at night. One night shortly after the zombiepocalypse began his congregation came to the church looking for a safe place but the doors were still locked. It was his choice (open the door or keep them locked). The people made so much noise trying to come in that they attracted zombies. They called his name and damned him to hell as they were eaten by the zombies. He says the Lord sent Rick and his group to punish him.  He is damned. He repeats, "I always lock the doors." and then cries. Glenn notices someone lying on the grass outside. They run out their and find Bob.  They carry him inside wondering what happened to his leg. As the camera pans on the church we see a giant red A painted on the side.  The Terminans left a little gift and message for train car A. They are still in that prison and the Terminans are still in charge.

Bob is awake and explains that he woke up at a school with Gareth and a few others eating his leg. Rick asks if they had Daryl and Carol but Bob says that Gareth told him he saw Daryl and Carol drive away. Bob refuses any pain medicine because it is too late for him. He shows them the zombie bite from the food bank. Everyone looks so sad. Gabriel offers the sofa in his office for Bob to rest. Rick asks if Gabriel knows where the school is that Bob mentioned. Gabriel tells him where it is. Abraham tells them that they all need to leave for DC right now before anything happens to Eugene. Rick wants to wait for Daryl and Carol but Abraham won't budge. He wants to leave on the bus right now. They start to fight and Glenn intercedes. Glenn is the voice of reason. He says they need each other and they can get through all of this together. Tara steps in and says that if Abraham stays one more day she will go to DC with him no matter what. She looks at Maggie (for permission?). Abraham wants Glenn and Maggie to come too. Eugene doesn't want to go but does what Abraham says. Rick tells him they are not taking the bus. Abraham says try to stop me. Rick goes to fight but Glenn steps in again and he agrees that he and Maggie will go to DC. Abraham agrees to stay half a day. Maggie agrees.

Bob talks to Sasha as he lies on the sofa with an art work of the last supper above him. He tries to be optimistic but Sasha doesn't want to play that game anymore. He says he didn't tell her that he was bitten because then their relationship would become all about the end and he really likes the middle.

Rick is getting the group ready. They know where the Terminans are and it would be best to attack now. He asks Tyreese if he is up for this fight. Sasha wants to go even though Tyreese says she should stay. He tells her he knows how she feels. She can't throw away the little bit of time she has left with Bob. She reminds him that he wanted to kill whomever killed Karen. He tells her she should forgive the Terminans. She thinks there is something wrong with him for wanting her to forgive them. He says she has the choice to forgive. She hands him a knife and tells him to kill Bob once he dies.

Rick and the group leave the church. Gabriel locks the door. Tyreese, Carl, Judith, Bob, Eugene, Rosita, and Gabriel wait inside the church. As Rick's group walks into the woods we see the Terminans make their way to the church. They break through the front door. Carl raises his gun. Gareth calls out into the church. "I guess you know we are here and we know you are here. We are armed and their is no point in hiding any more. We've been watching you. We know whose here." He goes on to list all the people in the church. The Terminans slowly make their way into the church. Gareth says it can all stop now. He knows they are behind one of two doors. He talks to Gabriel. If Gabriel helps they will let him leave with Judith. Judith begins to cry. Carl tries to shush her but it is too late. They know behind which door they are hiding.

As they are about to break down the door two of the Terminans fall dead from silenced gunshots. Rick orders them to put down their guns. Rick shoots Gareth's hand. He orders them to put their guns on the floor and kneel. Martin doesn't want to but finally does it when Abraham and the other come towards him out of the dark. Gareth kneels on the floor whimpering in pain. He says there is no point in begging. He says that Rick could have killed them all when they came in but didn't. There must be a reason for that. Rick's response, "We didn't want to waste the bullets." Ouch. Gareth says how they used to help and save people but then things changed when the rapists came. He tells Rick he doesn't know what it is like to be hungry. They can walk away and he promises they will never cross paths again. Rick says they will cross someone else's path. He days beside I already made you a promise. He pulls out a machete and kills Gareth. Sasha stabs Martin over and over again. Tyreese, Maggie, Tara, and Glenn look on horrified as their gang kills the rest of the Terminans. Michonne finds her katana among their belonging. Rick says, "It could have been us." Sasha agrees. Gabriel comes out and looks shocked at the scene. He says, "This is the Lord's house." Maggie replies, "No. It's just four walls and a roof." Maggie lost her faith when Hershel died,

The next morning everyone says goodbye to Bob. Bob thanks Rick for being good people and taking him in because Rick took people in. "Nightmares end. They shouldn't end who you are. And that is just this dead man's opinion." Those are great final words, Bob. He tells Rick to look at Judith and tell him that the world isn't going to end. Sasha now sits with Bob. He is smiling because in his dream Sasha was looking at him smiling. He dies. Sasha cries. She pulls out her knife. Tyreese walks into the room and asks for the knife. She hands it to him, kisses Bob's hand and walks out. Tyreese takes the knife and plunges it into Bob's head making sure Bob will rest in peace.

Sasha is making a marker for Bob's grave. She is now wearing Bob's jacket. Abraham gives Rick a map of their route so they can find them. Michonne and Rick promise they will be there to see Eugene fix the world. Abraham and his group board the bus. I hate to see the group split up like this. Especially after all they've been through to get back together. Rick opens up the map and sees that Abraham has written, "Sorry, I was an asshole. Come to Washington. The new world's gonna need Rick Grimes." Rick walks over to Tyreese who is digging a hole to bury the Terminans. Rick picks up a shovel and starts digging. He asks how it was for Tyreese to get to Terminus. Tyreese says it killed him. Rick says it didn't They continue to dig in silence. That night Michonne sits outside as a lookout. Gabriel walks outside. He can't sleep. The quiet bothers him. Telling his secret out loud he relives what happened before. Michonne says that won't stop but it won't be all the time.  They hear a rustling sound.  Michonne goes to explore. Daryl walks out of the woods. She smiles and asks where is Carol. He looks down and calls behind him, "Come on out." I don't think he was talking to Carol. Who is with him? Morgan? Someone else?

R.I.P. Bob

Final Thoughts
- It was interesting to see how Gareth tried to talk his way out of his situation with Rick all the way to the end. Gareth's power of persuasion aided him so far in surviving the zombiepocalypse. I guess he thought he would try one last time to convince Rick to see things his way. He tries to humanize Terminus by telling him that it started out by helping people but then things were changed by the other group. So they adapted to the world where the law of the land is eat or be eaten. There is a twisted logic to that rule. He also mentions that Rick doesn't know what it is like to be hungry. I'm not sure that's true. They almost ate dog food before they found the prison (Season 3 episode 1). But maybe that hunger coupled with the abuse at the hands of the rapists was just too much for Gareth to handle.
- What happened to Daryl and Carol? Where is Carol? Something bad must have happened because Daryl looked really sad when Michonne asked about Carol. I think he and Carol helped rescue someone from the car that kidnapped Beth and that person is who Daryl was telling to come out of the woods. I hope Carol isn't dead.
- I don't like the group splitting up. It took so long for everyone to find each other. I didn't think Glenn would agree to go with Abraham without the rest of the group.
- I was actually surprised that the show eliminated the Terminus group so early in the season. I think it would have been interesting to have Rick and the gang have to deal with being hunted by zombies and the Terminans.

The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 2 "Strangers"

You are not safe.

I think it is good that Rick realized that Tara didn't really know what she was getting into with the Governor. It was obvious even then that she was being manipulated. That is why he spoke to her at the confrontation at the prison. After helping Glenn she is now part of the group. The fist bump was a nice touch. Tyreese is so sweet. I like how he is trying to protect Carol by making sure everyone in the group knows what she did in the prison and that she is forgiven. He really is the one that needed to forgive her the most. And if he trusts her than everyone else should trust her too. He feels they should tell them about Mika and Lizzie but he doesn't want to. He needs to forget it (which is understandable).

Michonne goes to kill a zombie wrapped in barbed wire and reaches for her katana and then realizes she no longer has it. So she kills it with her gun. It might be a hard habit for her to break. She spent a long time using the katana as her main weapon. Abraham watches this and says to Rosita, "This right there is why I have been waiting for our moment." I don't know what his end game is but comments like that make me not trust him. What are those two planning/keeping from the group?

That night Rick tells Carol he owes her everything. She says it was Tyreese. He was at the prison and grabbed Judith. She gives him the watch she found in Terminus. He tells her how he saw Sam get killed. He tries to give her the watch and she shakes her head. He is still uncertain about what she did back at the prison, but he knows she knew somethings he didn't. She says that he was right about her ability to survive. He asks her for permission for the group to join her. She nods and he says thank you. That is really interesting. Rick sees that Carol makes decisions he wouldn't make but they ended up being for the better and the only reason he and his family are still alive. Daryl and Carol sit together. He looks over at her and she says she doesn't want to talk about it. She just wants to forget. This echoes what Tyreese said earlier. I like that Daryl doesn't have to say anything. She just knows what he is thinking. They hear leaves rustling. Daryl gets up to investigate but sees nothing. We see a shadow of a person walk by.

The next morning as the group is walking through the woods they hear a noise in front of them. They all raise their weapons to fire but it is just Daryl with some squirrels he hunted. He raise his arms and says, "We surrender." Even in the zombiepocalypse there are still moments of humor. Daryl tells Rick he couldn't find any tracks. Whatever was there should have left tracks if they were watching them. He felt a presence. That is never a good thing. It would be better to find tracks to know what you are dealing with than being left with a sense of uncertainty. Abraham asks Rick if he is ready to get back on the road. Rick says yes and Abraham says as soon as they get back on the street they will look for a car so they can head north. Sasha lists things about their lives she doesn't like (wet feet, mosquito bites, etc.) and Bob gives her the optimist's view of those things (cool feet, feeling alive). They kiss. Tyreese just smiles.

A man can be heard yelling help. Carl immediately wants to go to the rescue. Rick hesitates a moment but then goes towards the sound. The group finds a man on top of a boulder surrounded by zombies. They kill all of the zombies. The man is a preacher. He looks terrified and then throws up. He apologizes and thanks them. He says his name is Gabriel. Rick asks him if he has any weapons. Gabriel says he doesn't need any weapons. The word of God is the only weapon he needs. To which Daryl replies, "Sure didn't look like it." Classic Daryl. Gabriel replies that he called for help and help came. He then asks if they have any food. Carl gives him some pecans (were those pecans from the house where Carol, Tyreese, and the girls stayed?). I think it is interesting when Gabriel comments that Judith is a beautiful child everyone looks defensive as if that were a threat against Judith's life. He asks if they have a camp. Rick says no and asks if he has a camp. Gabriel replies that he has a church. Rick starts with the three questions. Gabriel hadn't killed any walkers or people. When Rick asks why Gabriel replies that the Lord abhors violence. Then Rick asks, "What have you done?" No one survives this long in the zombiepocalypse without having done something abhorrent. Rick says they have all done something. Gabriel says he is a sinner and confesses those sins to God only.

They make their way to Gabriel's church. Rick asks if Gabriel had been watching them earlier. Gabriel says he keeps to himself. People now are just as dangerous as the dead. Daryl says they are worse. Daryl Dixon telling it like it is. Gabriel says he doesn't venture very far but then says maybe he is lying and leading them into a trap so he can steal all of their squirrels. The group sees this as a threat and he is quick to say he has a bad sense of humor. It was all a joke, or is it? When they get to the church Rick puts his hand out to get the keys. He wants to look around first. Gabriel hands the keys over and the group enters the church with their weapons at the ready. They inspect the church but find no one. Just empty food cans and children's drawing about the Bible (the burning bush and 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, interesting choices). Carol finds a room where Gabriel has been copying the Bible into a notebook. Abraham says they found a bus outside and he can fix it in a day or two. Abraham is ready to leave as soon as the bus is fixed. Michonne wants a minute for them to catch their breath and get supplies. Rick agrees that they need food and ammunition. Glenn tells Abraham that one way or another they are doing what Rick tells them to do. They are not splitting up again. Abraham doesn't look pleased. Tara agrees with Glenn. Bob says he wants to go with him but agrees with Tara. They will do as Rick says. Gabriel says he survived because of luck. The world ended shortly after their annual food drive. Since it was just him the food lasted a long time. When it ran out he raided the surrounding area with the exception of one place because it was overrun by walkers. Sasha says they can handle the dozen or so walkers at this place. She and Bob will go with Rick and Tyreese will watch Judith. Tyreese looks like a happy papa bear to be watching Judith.  He says he would watch her anytime and do anything for her.
Rick is grateful to him for that. Rick tells Gabriel he is coming with them even though Gabriel insists that he won't be of any help. Rick tells Carl that he doesn't trust Gabriel. Carl needs to know that he is never safe and that he should never let his guard down. Carl says that not everybody can be bad. I don't know Carl, so far most of the other survivors have wanted to kill you and your group. Carl tells Rick that they are both strong and strong enough that they can help people and deal with the situation if something goes wrong. "We are strong enough that we don't have to be afraid and we don't have to hide." Rick says that Gabriel is hiding something. That much is obvious and in the zombiepocalypse the paranoid survive.

Bob tells Rick that he wasn't wrong about wanting to go back to kill the people at Terminus but at some point if you keep going like that you let go of everything. Abraham will get Eugene to Washington and this world will end and it will be like it was before. Rick says this is the real world. to which Bob replies, "This is the nightmare, and nightmares end." That is very optimistic of Bob but I don't think the zombiepocalypse will be fixed so easily. But he does have a point about losing yourself. You could survive this world but lose all of your humanity. That wouldn't be much of a life.

Daryl asks Carol if she is okay. She says she has to be. He says they get to start all over again with each other. She saved them all by herself. She says she was lucky. They find a car but it doesn't work. Daryl says, "We ain't dead. And whatever happened, happened. Lets start over." She wants to and he says that they can. She looks uncertain. She says they should leave the car their in case things turn out badly at the church.

Tara and Maggie are standing outside of a gun store. Tara doesn't think they will find anything inside at this point. They hear a noise from inside and Glenn comes out with his gun. They ask if it was a walker and he admits he tripped over a stack of boxes and a mop. But he did find three silencers in a meat freezer. The number one rule of scavenging, "There's nothing left in this world that isn't hidden."

Gabriel tells them they have arrived at their destination. It is the local food bank where all the cans of food in his church were meant to go. Rick and the others enter carefully with their weapons at the ready. They find a big whole in the middle of the floor full of walkers and shelves with canned goods. They decide to use the shelves to their advantage and keep the walkers at arms length as they gather the food. Rick forces Gabriel to go down with them. The plan works well at first. Then Gabriel reacts to a walker with glasses on.  He runs away from the group and tries to go back up the stairs but falls and the walker makes its way towards him. Rick gets the others to go with him to save Gabriel. The group kills one zombie after another. Bob gets dragged under water by a zombie. He comes back up and says he is okay. Gabriel apologizes and says he panicked. Rick asked if he knew that walker when she was alive. Gabriel doesn't answer. Rick asks Michonne if she misses her sword. She says it was never hers. She just found it. She says she got good at using it because it was just her and the zombies day after day for a long time.  But that wasn't a life. She misses Andrea and Hershel but not what was before or even her sword.

Rick finds Carl outside. Carl points out to him scratches by the window. It looks like someone was trying to get in. He also found "You'll burn for this." carved into a wall of the church. He says it doesn't mean that Gabriel is bad and that they can handle this. I'm not so sure about that Carl. He must have done something really bad for someone to write that on the wall. When you combine that with his weird guilt ridden behavior all signs point to something bad.

That night the groups feasts. Abraham proposes a toast. They are all survivors. But, he asks them if that is all they want to be? Spend each day just surviving to live another day. He says if they get Eugene to Washington they can do more than survive. They can live. Eugene tells them there is an infrastructure that was built to survive an event like this that is filled with food, a refuge. They can wait it out in safety until the cure works. Abraham asks them to come with them and save the world for Judith and themselves and the other survivors. They all look at Rick. Judith coos and Rick says she is in and they are all in. They cheer. Sasha kisses Bob and he asks for one more kiss. I think he was bitten by that zombie and this is his goodbye kiss. He looks sad and that seems like the most likely explanation for his behavior. Tara tells Maggie that she was part of the group with the Governor. Maggie looks shocked. Tara explains she didn't know who the Governor was or what he was capable of or who they were. She didn't want to keep it a secret. Maggie says she is with them now and hugs her. Of course Maggie understands. She knows that the Governor was a manipulator not to mention that Tara saved Glenn's life. Rick tells Gabriel he knows he is hiding something and that the secret is something he can't hide from. That is his business but "these people are my family" and if his secret will harm them in any way Rick will kill him.

Carol fixes the engine in the car. A walker comes out of the woods and she kill it. Daryl steps out of the woods and asks her what she is doing. She says she doesn't know. They start to walk back when Daryl spots the car that stole Beth. He breaks the tail lights of their car and gets in with Carol and they follow the other car.

Bob sits outside looking towards the church. His smile turns sad and he walks into the woods and cries. Yup, I'm pretty sure he was bitten. Out of nowhere someone wearing a hoodie hits Bob. The camera pans to the tree where a mark has been carved.

Bob wakes up and there is a fire with the man that Tyreese beat up in the cabin in the woods (I thought he killed him but I was wrong, he probably should have killed him). Gareth is there telling Bob to wake up.  He tells Bob that the good news is that he is not dead, yet. Gareth says he didn't want to hurt Bob before or get him away from his group or scare him. They are things they had to do. Bob and his group took away their home. Now they are out in the world trying to survive. To do that they have to hunt.  They didn't start out eating people. It evolved into that. They evolved out of necessity. Now they have devolved into hunters. "I told you. You can't go back, Bob." Nothing happening to Bob is personal. It is cosmic justice for it to be Bob. But they would have done this to anybody and they will. At the end of the day a man's got to eat. Gareth takes a big bite of meat and we see they have cut off Bob's leg and roasted it on the fire. He tells Bob he tastes much better than they expected.

Final Thoughts
- I like the slow motion walking with the intense music in the background.  I feel the show should intersperse that with awesome zombie kills and it would be perfect.
- Was the person in the woods looking at Carol and Daryl someone from Terminus, Morgan, Gabriel, or someone else entirely?
- What did Gabriel do to have someone write that on the wall?  I think he might have locked himself in the church with all the food and when people tried to get in (as evidenced by the knife marks on the windows) he wouldn't let them.  He therefore caused the death of many people, like the female walker with glasses, and feels guilty about it.
- Carol doesn't seem to want to stay with the group anymore. She told Tyreese once she saw him safely into Terminus she would leave. The entire time that Abraham is talking about Washington she is looking towards the door. I think Daryl sensed this from her and that is why he followed her.
- It appears Rick was right about going back to kill the survivors from Terminus.  A lesson they should have learned with the Governor.
- My sister pointed out that it appears that Gareth and Bob know each other.  Could it be that Bob was at Terminus? He never gave any details about the two groups he had previously lived with, except that he was the lone survivor.  Could he have escaped Terminus when the group of rapists took over? Or does the familiarity stem from days of interrogation? We don't know how long they were at Terminus.  I assume it was only a few days since Tyreese and Carol showed up not long after.
- Since the terminus people ate Bob's leg and he is probably bitten by a zombie will they get sick from it? Do we care?
- Why doesn't Maggie seem worried about Beth? Daryl mentions that someone took her but no one seems to care about finding her.
- The group should have grabbed some walkie-talkies from Terminus so they could communicate when on patrol.  This would avoid the confusion about where Daryl and Carol went.  They are safe for the moment, but who knows what danger they are headed towards.
- The Biblical quote on the arch in Gabriel's church is from Galatians 6: 9 "And let us not grow weary of doing good / For in due season we will reap if we do not give up."
