The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 15 "East"

You started something.

Someone (Carol) calling for someone (a man) to come out slowly. Rosary on the ground. A puddle of blood. A gunshot.

Carol's note to Tobin. Carol sews up a jacket. She packs a bag with food. Tobin calls her name and she hides the bag under the bed. He hurt his hand and went to the infirmary. It's quiet now without Denise. He knew her since the beginning. His voice fades as Carol only half listens to what he says. She keeps thinking about Tara and how she will feel when she finds out Denise is dead. He tells her everything will be okay and they kiss.  That night she grabs her things and sneaks out of the house as Tobin sleeps.

The next morning we see Sasha and Rosita on guard duty. Carl grabs a gun from the armory. On the grip is a picture of a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire. Glenn and Maggie shower together. We see Maggie's bruises from her abduction. Daryl sits on his bike holding the key chain with Dennis written on it. Abraham and Sasha chat. She gives him a cigar and they smile at each other. Rosita watches them.

We see Judith on the baby monitor. Rick and Michonne lie in bed together. She reaches for an apple and takes a bite then hands it to him to take a bite. They cuddle like a happy couple. "This is good." He says. Maggie is worried about an attack. Rick says when they come they will end it. "The world is ours and we know how to take it. Everything we need is right here inside these walls. We're not losing any of it again." Famous last words. Maggie is organizing the weapons. They are going to hide a few in case anyone gets in. Daryl rides his bike to the gate. He is leaving. Glenn goes to stop him. Glenn and Michonne climb in a truck and follow him out. Abraham tries to go out with them but Rosita tells him to take her place in guard duty because she knows where Daryl is going. Tobin gives Rick Carol's note. No one saw anything. Abraham tells Rick that Daryl left and the others followed him. Tobin notices that a car is missing. Morgan asks to see the note. He tells Rick he is going to find Carol. Rick joins Morgan and gives orders that no one else is to leave and that they are to be ready for a fight

A car with spikes all over it drives down the road. Carol is driving. She sees a truck approaching from the opposite direction. Three men shoot at her from the truck. Her tires are shot out and she stops the car. The three men stare at her from the back of the truck. She clutches the rosary in one hand. One of the men calls out to her, "Hands up." She puts her hands up and asks them not to hurt her. The rosary hangs down from out of her hand. She says she just has a car and a knife for the dead. He says she has information where she's from and where she is going. She says she is Nancy from Montclair. She kept moving and is not really going anywhere. He wants to know where she is from. Is she from Alexandria? The cars in Alexandria have spikes through them just like hers. He says they were on their way to Alexandria and will give her a ride back. She shakes and looks down at the rosary. The men leer at her. She starts to cry. "It doesn't have to be this way . . . no one has to get hurt." Shots ring out. The men fall down dead. Carol shot them with a gun she had hidden up her sleeve (that's what she was sewing into her jacket at the beginning of the episode). One of the men gets out of the car shooting at her. She hides behind the car and he inches towards her. She grabs one of the spikes and shoves it through him. She creeps around the car and grabs his weapons. Then she slowly walks to the truck. She sees someones foot. She tells him to walk out slowly (what we heard at the beginning of the episode). He grabs a knife and lunges towards her. We see a puddle of blood and hear a gun shot.

Enid grabs food from the pantry as Maggie walks in. Enid hands her a jar of pickles and tells Maggie to rest. She will take her shift. She wants to help. Morgan tells Rick he didn't have to come with him. Rick said they had to try. Tire tracks pointed east so they will go east. Morgan says the Savior's compound was west. Rick says Morgan doesn't know Carol. Morgan says he got to know her a little. Morgan believes there is no right. "It's just the wrong that doesn't pull you down." "It hasn't pulled me down." says Rick. "I think it will. 'Cause I know you." Another man that was in the truck survived. He looks around at his dead friends. He finds the man that Carol shot last still alive on the ground. He tells the man to let it go. He gets out of the truck. We see another car approach. It is Morgan and Rick. They stop when they get to the truck. Rick recognizes Carol's car. They don't see Carol. Rick approaches the man on the ground and asks where Carol is. The man doesn't respond and Rick stabs him in the head. They cautiously walk around the car. Rick says these men were Saviors. Morgan approaches one of the zombie Saviors eating another dead Savior. Morgan says their is blood on the car; Carol could be hurt. Rick is proud of Carol killing four men. She's a force of nature. Morgan tells Rick she left because she couldn't kill. Rick replies sometimes you have to kill. Morgan notices a blood trail going into the fields. Rick says she could've died there even if her body isn't there. He notices that the Saviors were close to Alexandria. There were more Saviors than they thought. They didn't end it. Morgan, "No. You started something." The lone Savior survivor walks out of his hiding place in the woods. He looks down at the ground and picks up Carol's rosary. He follows after Rick and Morgan.

Daryl and the others are back at the tracks where Denise was killed. A zombie is munching on one of the Saviors they killed. Michonne finds Daryl's bike hidden in the bushes. She tells Glenn they should let Daryl do this. Glenn says maybe Daryl is going to get himself killed. Which way did Dwight run? She points the way and they follow it. Daryl walks through a field cautiously looking down at the ground. He hears something and fires his crossbow. It was Rosita. She tells him to watch out. He says they shouldn't have come. Michonne says he shouldn't have left. He is mad that he helped Dwight. He is going to do what he should have done before. Glenn says Denise is gone. "You are doing this for you. . . We need you. Everyone back there needs us right now. It's gonna to go wrong out here." Michonne says "We'll square it. I will. I promise you. Just come back." Daryl, "I can't. Man, I can't!" "I can't either." says Rosita and follows after Daryl. Glenn is worried the Saviors are already at Alexandria. He says, "We need them alive. We need to find out more." Michonne agrees. "We just got stuck with each other. We were lucky. We figured it all out together. It felt like we did. After everything we did. The world is not what we thought it was. Hilltop, the Saviors, is bigger." Someone whistles and several armed men appear in the woods. Dwight steps out from behind a tree pointing a gun at them and says, "Hi."

Morgan and Rick walk down a field and find a blood trail. Morgan asks Rick if he is out there because Carol is his friend. "I'm out here 'cause she's my family." Morgan says that Rick sent her away after what she did at the prison. If it happened today Rick would thank her. She was right to do it. "Ya but, this was back then and you didn't kill her. You sent her away, Rick. And she came back and saved all y'all. People can come back, Rick." They see a female zombie that looks like Carol and run towards it. It's not Carol. They walk up to a farm. They find dead bodies everywhere. They stumble upon a man killing a zombie. Rick orders for the man to come out. He won't. The zombies are too close. The man says he was looking for his horse. The man says he has not seen Carol. The dead are coming and he tells them to run. Rick shoots at the man but Morgan pushes him so he misses. The zombies attack and they kill them all. The man was using a spear from Hilltop. Rick thinks the man might be a Savior. Rick, "I don't take chances anymore." Morgan tells him about the wolf. His first encounter in the woods and finding him in Alexandria and keeping the wolf locked up. "I could have killed him but all life is precious . . . I knew he could change." He tells him everything that happened with Carol and the wolf and Denise. How the wolf saved Denise's life and how Denise was then able to save Carl. "It's all a circle. Everything gets a return." He tells Rick to go home where he is needed. He shouldn't take any more chances. Morgan says he will find Carol somehow. Rick says, "You're coming back." "Ya, but if I don't, don't come looking." Rick offers Morgan his gun. Morgan reluctantly takes it. Rick tells him that Michonne did steal the protein bar. Morgan knew all along. A little bit of levity in an intense episode.

Rick returns alone. He asks about Michonne. Abraham tells him she is still out there. Rick looks worried. Abraham asks if he is afraid to go back to it (a relationship) with somebody close? "Yeah. Yeah" Rick responds. "Me too. But now, I think I am much more ready to tear the world a new asshole." Rick chuckles and nods in agreement. They stare out the gate. Maggie sits in her house. Enid knocks on the door. Enid wants to know why Maggie was looking for her. Maggie needs Enid's help. She has Enid cut her hair. Maggie says she cut her hair because she has to keep going and doesn't want anything getting in her way. Maggie looks to be in pain. She screams and clutches her abdomen. Glenn and Michonne are gagged and tied. Daryl and Rosita sneak up. Glenn shakes his head no. Daryl says shh. Glenn grunts to get Daryl's attention but it is too late. Dwight and some others come up from behind.  A gun shot and blood. Dwight says, "You'll be alright." Daryl cannot be dead!!!!

Final Thoughts
 - On watching this episode a second time it looks like Daryl was shot in the shoulder. See the screen shot above. I certainly hope so. If not I will riot. And yes I do have one of those t-shirts.
- I certainly hope Maggie's baby is okay. Maybe she'll be able to get to Hilltop before anything happens.
- Glenn and Maggie really need to stick together. Glenn should stay in Alexandria to keep it safe. Michonne and Rosita could easily have gone after Daryl by themselves. I am still worried they will kill Maggie off.
- I'm really liking the bond that Maggie and Enid have developed. I think Glenn's talk really sunk in for Enid and she is accepting Maggie's friendship in her life. She needs parental guidance or sisterly guidance. She is still a kid.
- Will Morgan find Carol in time? I think he will find her. He found Rick after all that time. Will he bring Carol back or will he and Carol go off together to survive without killing now that they are of the same opinion?
- We know that Negan will make his appearance in the season finale. He was even alluded to in this episode with the gun that Carl was looking at. It has a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire which is Negan's weapon of choice. What is going to happen when they encounter Negan? There are more Saviors than they expected and the Saviors are out for revenge. Like Morgan said, they started something. They messed with a hornet's nest and now they are going to get stung.

The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 14 "Twice As Far"

You want to live you take chances.

The garage door opens to Alexandria's now full pantry. Father Gabriel walks around with a rifle. Eugene takes his post at the gate with a rifle. Morgan practices his Aikido moves. Carol sits smoking on her porch holding the rosary. Morgan finishes boarding up a wall. He has made a stone prison cell (I was right!). Rick asks him why he built it. Morgan says it will give them some choices the next time. Another morning much the same as the one before. This time we see Tobin kiss Carol good-bye. Rosita gets dressed and we see Spencer in her bed. Daryl inspects his bike. He finds the figure he carved. It has been painted. Carol joins him. She gives him one of her cigarettes. She asks about the people who stole his bike. "You saved them right? Sorry. It's who you are. We're still stuck with that." Daryl responds, "No we ain't. I should've killed them." Carol walks away and leaves her cigarettes behind. Daryl calls after her and wants to know what her kidnappers did to them. She replies, "To us? They didn't do anything." She and Maggie did all the killing. Day three and the pantry is still full. The prison still stands. Carol has an ashtray filled with cigarette butts on her porch. She sits on her swing with the rosary in her hand.

Abraham and Eugene leave Alexandria. Denise watches a zombie outside of the gates from a guard tower. Spencer offers to make Rosita beef jerky stroganoff but she blows him off. He wants to define the relationship. She agrees to dinner. Denise shows Rosita and and Daryl a map. She remembers an apothecary shop that she wants to check out. Daryl says he and Rosita will go. Denise wants to go with them. She hasn't been outside since the zombiepocalypse started. She will go by herself if she has to. Daryl and Rosita reluctantly agree to go with her. They sit in a truck. Daryl drives. Denise tries to give him instructions on how to drive stick shift. Her brother taught her. Daryl ignores her and the truck continues to make unpleasant sounds. They stop when they come upon a tree blocking the road. Daryl and Rosita check it out. Rosita finds a zombie under a tree and kills it. Denise sits in the car looking at them. She looks upset. The three have to walk since the truck can't make it. Denise wants to follow the tracks but Daryl wants to take the longer route via the road. He is adamant about avoiding the tracks. Is he still upset about Terminus? Or does he just not like someone else leading the way since he is the group's tracker? Daryl and Denise go down the road but Rosita follows the tracks.

Abraham and Eugene walk down an alley while it rains. Abraham notices the changes Eugene has been making. He wants to know why. Eugene says the key to survival is to be able to change in your environment. "I've changed. I've adapted. I'm a survivor." Rosita stands by the tracks waiting for Daryl and Denise to catch up with her. Denise apologizes to her for choosing Daryl. Denise wants to know who taught Rosita how to fight. Rosita says many people did. It's just a long list of names. They make it to the apothecary shop. Daryl tells Denise that he and Rosita will go inside first. Abraham and Eugene enter a building. It looks like some kind of factory. Abraham wants to know what they are doing here. Eugene tells him they will make bullets there. Abraham wants to know what to do next. Eugene says they need to talk to Rick. A zombie comes up and Abraham goes to kill it but Eugene calls dibs. He hits it with his machete but the head is covered in metal. He struggles several times to kill it and Abraham intervenes and kills it. Eugene gets upset since he had called dibs. Abraham says that he saved Eugene's life. Eugene says, "Screw you." Abraham gets upset. Eugene tells Abraham his services are no longer required. He has outlived his usefulness. Abraham leaves and tells Eugene to find his own way back.

Daryl and Rosita enter the shop with Denise following closely behind. She almost throws up. Denise looks down on the counter and sees pictures of kids. Rosita finds a sign for a pharmacy. As Daryl tries to open the screened window Denise looks at key chains with names on them. They get the pharmacy open and Daryl says they will take it all. A thumping sound can be heard. They all stop. Rosita says it's just one and goes back to raiding the pharmacy. Denise approaches the door where the sound is emanating and opens it using her knife. She walks in and we see comics littering the floor and a play pen. She walks toward the sound and she finds a zombie with a cast on its leg. On the wall the word hush is written several times. In the sink in a bloody mess with a child's shoe sticking out of the top. We can all guess what happened. Denise runs outside. In her hand is a key chain with the name Dennis written on it. She cries. Daryl and Rosita find her outside. Daryl says she did well finding the pharmacy. Rosita says she tried to warn her that she wasn't ready.

Daryl asks Denise if her brother was older or younger. He brother Dennis was six minutes older than her. Her parents came up with the names Dennis/Denise while on a bender. Dennis was brave. He was also angry. A dangerous combination. Daryl thinks that Dennis sounds like Merle. When they get to the tracks Daryl starts to follow them. They pass abandoned cars along the way. Denise stops to inspect one of the cars. A zombie jumps up from inside. Denise wants to get the cooler that is inside the car but the others don't. They keep going down the tracks but she walks around the car with her knife and opens the other car door. She grabs the cooler but the zombie grabs it as well and ends up on top of Denise. Denise gets on top of the zombie and stops Daryl and Rosita from intervening. She kills the zombie herself. Then she pukes. Denise says, "I threw up on my glasses." She looks in the cooler and finds some sodas. Daryl gets mad her. She could have died. "You want to live you take chances." she tells him. "Just for a couple of sodas?" "No, just this one." She shows Daryl the soda she wanted him to get for Tara. She tells them that she wanted Daryl to come with her because he is brave like her brother and sometimes he makes her feel safe. She asked Rosita to come because Rosita is now alone for the first time in her life and because she is strong and that gives her hope that she can be strong too. She says she didn't tell Tara she loved her because she was scared. As she lectures them an arrow goes through her eye. Several armed men come out of the woods. One of them is the blond guy that stole Daryl's bike and he has Eugene.

Daryl stares down the blond guy (who now has a new burn scar on his face). "You got something to say to me?" Says D (or Dwight). He still has Daryl's crossbow which he used to kill Denise. Daryl tells him, "I should have killed you." "Ya you probably should've. So here we are. Kind of begs the question. Who brought this on who? She wasn't even the one I was aiming for. It's nothing personal." Eugene looks back at the woods and we see Abraham peeking out from behind some barrels. D wants to know Rosita's name. He wants them to let them into Alexandria so they can take whatever and whoever they want. If not he will kill Eugene and then them. Daryl just glares. Eugene says if he wants to kill someone he should kill Abraham that is hiding behind the barrels since he is an a-hole. One of the men goes to check it out and Eugene bites D in the crotch. Abraham starts shooting the men and Daryl and Rosita grab weapons and start killing the others. Zombies come out of the woods attracted by the noise. D and Daryl keep shooting at each other. As D and a few others run away Daryl grabs his crossbow and starts to follow them but Rosita tells him to stop. Eugene has been shot. Rosita applies pressure to the wounds then all three of them pick him up and carry him down the tracks. Daryl looks at Denise as they pass by.

Eugene lies in the infirmary. Rosita watches over him. It was just a bullet graze. The antibiotics they picked up, thanks to Denise, will save his life. Eugene wants Abraham to apologize for doubting his skills. Abraham apologizes. Abraham stands staring at one of the houses. Sasha walks out. She asks if he is okay. "You said I had choices. You have them too. Could be thirty years for us here. That's still too short." She nods and tells him to come inside. Daryl looks down at the key chain with the name Dennis on it. He throws in a grave on top of Denise's sheet covered body. He fills the grave with dirt along with Carol. She says, "You were right. I knew it when you said it." (He should have killed D and the others in the burnt forest). We hear a voice over of Carol's break up note to Tobin. "I wish it didn't have to end this way. It was never my intention to hurt you, but it's how it has to be. We have so much here, people, food, medicine, walls, everything we need to live. But what we have other people will want too and that will never change. If we survive this threat and it's not over another will be back to take its place, to take what we have. I love you all here. I do. And I'd have to kill for you. And I can't. I won't. Rick sent me away and I wasn't ever gonna come back, but everything happened and I wound up staying. But I can't anymore. I can't love anymore because I can't kill for anyone. So I'm going like a always should have. Don't come after me, please." We see everybody going through the motions of another day with a few changes. They are strengthening the walls and have cars ready and lined up by the gate. Morgan looks around and we hear the sound of the Carol's porch swing moving back and forth.

Final Thoughts
- Poor Tara, this is the second girlfriend she has lost in the zombiepocalypse. Will she feel guilty that she told Denise she loved her to cover up for her past? Or will she feel grateful that she was able to tell her she loved her before she died?
- Why is it every time we finally get to know a new character on this show they kill them off?
- I really like the interactions between Denise and Daryl this season and I wish we could've had a few more before losing her.
- What will Alexandria do without a doctor? Will this push Glenn and Maggie to Hilltop since their doctor is an obstetrician?
- How will Daryl react to Carol leaving? I think he might still try looking for her. The question is how far will she get? She left before and went back to the prison. Will she really be able to leave those she loves? She will still have to kill if she wants to survive alone out there. I still believe she will die in the season finale. She might come back to help fight Negan and sacrifice herself for her loved ones.
- I can also see Morgan going after Carol and convincing her to come back.
- I am curious to know what made Eugene think that biting a man's crotch was the only way to create a distraction? Why didn't he just fake a seizure or something?
- If they are able to make bullets this will turn things around for Alexandria. They could have all the power in this area. They have already struck a good deal with Hilltop. Who knows who else is out there and what they could get from them.
- What will the loss of Denise and Carol do to Rick. He is already heading down a very dark road. Will he go completely mad? He's already acting like the Governor.

The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 13 "The Same Boat"

Kill floor

The alarm sounds. Carol tells Maggie she is staying there. A man comes out of the woods. Carol shoots the man in the arm and he falls to the ground. Maggie goes to finish him off. Three women come out of the woods pointing their guns at them. They give up their arms. View through some binoculars. The woman we heard at the end of the last episode is telling Rick and the others to lower their weapons. She doesn't want to take them on since her group outnumbered. We see Daryl point his gun at the Savior's head. Rick wants to trade the Savior for Maggie and Carol. She doesn't see it as a fair trade so she declines. The man is complaining that he wants Primo (Rick's hostage) back but none of the women agree. One of the women covers Maggie and Carol's faces with their own jackets.

We see the ground from Carol's point of view. One of the women is giving them orders on where to walk. Paula (Ginger Savior) is communicating with other Saviors over the walkie. They are now in a "safe house." Maggie and Carol are gagged and have their hands and arms tied. Zombies are heard and one of the women calls for backup.Maggie and Carol are left alone in the room. Maggie looks around for a way out. She rubs her tied hands on the wall. Carol grabs a crucifix from the floor and tucks it away. She starts to hyperventilate when their captors come back. Maggie looks confused and concerned. Donnie is still complaining about his arm. Maggie tells them to take the gag out of Carol's mouth. I think Carol is still playing the part of weak woman. She reaches for the crucifix and the older woman pulls it out. Maggie kind of gives her a weird look but I think she is figuring out what Carol is doing. Carol says it doesn't matter what happens to her just don't hurt Maggie or the baby. Maggie tells them that she is two months pregnant and that's why she isn't showing yet. Paula says it was stupid for Maggie to get knocked up. Maggie replies, "When was it ever smart to get knocked up? Women used to just die in childbirth.  And they always thought the world was gonna end. Living through it, why would you just give up?" Paula, "The point is to stay standing." Maggie, "No. The walkers do that. I'm choosing something." 'Chelle (the young Savior) seems moved by what Maggie said. The older of the three women starts to smoke and Carol tells her to stop for the baby. The woman laughs over Carol's concern of second hand smoke but 'Chelle tells her to put it out. Molls (the older woman) coughs up blood. The cigarettes are already killing her.

Donnie says his arm feels like it's on fire. Paula tells him another crew is coming and will be there in under 30 minutes. Maggie tells her Donnie's nerves are dying if he doesn't get medical help he will lose his arm or even his life. She tells them to talk to Rick if they think their friend Primo can help. Paula tells Donnie 30 minutes. Donnie gets mad at Carol for shooting him and wants to kill both of them now. Paula wants to use them as insurance. Donnie wants to shoot Carol in the arm for revenge. Paula just tells him to shut up. He hits her upside the head and Maggie trips him and starts to fight with him but Carol intervenes and he kicks her. Paula calls Maggie stupid and tells 'Chelle to take her to another room to question her. Carol looks up at the window on the door and sees zombies staring back.

'Chelle sits across from Maggie and says that she must have a nice place to live if she has nice clothes and time to make a baby. She asks Maggie where it is. Maggie pukes. 'Chelle says, "The way you stay alive is you produce for us. You're not the good guys. You should know that." Paula makes the excuse for Donnie's behavior that he is in pain and men can't handle pain. Carol thanks her for helping her and Maggie when Donnie attacked them. She starts to tell them that Ed used to beat her. Paula interrupts and calls Carol pathetic. They are nothing alike. Donnie is just a warm body for her bed. She could kill him in his sleep. Carol tucks the crucifix up in her hands. Paula asks her if she really believes. Carol tells her, "Faith got me through the death of my daughter." 'Chelle wraps her hand that is missing part of her little finger. She tells Maggie she got caught stealing gas from this place to look for her boyfriend's body and that was the price for her crime. Her boyfriend was blown up. Maggie seems to think he was probably part of the gang Daryl blew up. She has the name Frankie tattooed on her arm. She was going to name her baby Frank after her father. Maggie says she's sorry. "Chelle replies, "No, you aren't." One of them will die today.

A voice can be heard over the walkie. It is Rick. He wants to make the trade. Paula doesn't want to trade; it isn't worth the risk. Carol tells them they don't have to fight. Paula wants to know why. Carol lies and says the Saviors ambushed them on the road. Molls assumes it was the group of Saviors that Daryl blew up. Paula asks why they didn't stop the killing with the motorcycle gang. Carol says that Negan sounded like a maniac. Molls replies, "We are all Negan." Carol keeps asking "What does that mean?" to the comment about Negan but gets no reply. Carol asks for a cigarette from the Molls. She gives her one. Paula says, "You are weak. What are you so afraid of? So scared you can't even stick to your own principles," Carol replies, "You don't want me to stick to my own principles." If only the Saviors knew what a real threat that statement is. Paula says she was a secretary. She used to read inspirational emails to feel better about herself. She was at work when the army took over DC. The important government people were evacuated first and she was stuck with her boss. She had a husband and four daughters. The first person she killed was her boss. She stopped counting her kills when she hit double digits. "I am not like you. I'm still me but better." Carol, "You're the one whose afraid to die and you're going to. You will die. It's what's going to happen if you don't work this out." Paula, "Are you going to kill me?" Carol, "I hope not."

Paula calls to Rick over the walkie. She wants to make the trade. She gives him a meet up spot. They will meet in ten minutes. She thinks Rick is already there since there is no static and it was all too easy. Carol says Rick is a man of his word. Paula calls to another Savior group. They are getting ready to move. She will kill Maggie and Carol if they leave. They leave Carol alone in the room. She takes a deep breathe then uses the cross to cut the tape off her hands. She makes it out of the room and looks for Maggie. She finds Maggie trying to cut her hands free. She cuts her free and they hug. Carol wants to go but Maggie says they have to finish this (aka kill the Saviors). They inspect Donnie. He is dead and turning into a zombie. Maggie ties a rope around his waist. They tie him to a pipe in the room. When Molls walks in he bites her. Maggie comes up behind her, takes her weapon, and bashes her head in. Paula comes back to find Carol gone. She looks pissed as she cocks her gun.

Maggie and Carol walks down a hallway filled with zombies impaled on poles. Paula shoots at them. Carol tells Paula to run. Maggie tells Carol to shoot. Paula says, "The things I've done. What I've given up. What I had to do." A zombie breaks free and goes for Carol. Maggie kills it and tells Carol to run. Maggie walks down the hall and finds 'Chelle. They fight and she slices Maggie across the belly. Carol shoots "Chelle in the head. Paula laughs and tells Carol she was good at pretending. Carol, "I told you to run." If you could do all this, what were you so afraid of, Carol? "I was afraid of this." she replies. She and Paula fight. Paula gets impaled on one of the poles and a zombie eats her face.

One of the Saviors calls over the walkie. Carol tells the man to meet them on the kill floor. She confesses to Maggie that she's killed 18 maybe 20 people. She should have killed Donnie when she had the chance. She shot him in the arm on purpose. None of this would have happened if she had just killed him. Maggie tells her not to think about it, they are almost done. We hear several people come in. It is the other Saviors. Carol lights a cigarette. She throws the cigarette on the floor of the kill room and closes the door. The Saviors are consumed by fire. They scream as they burn. Maggie and Carol walk down the hall. Maggie kills the zombie Paula as she walks by. As she opens the door we see Glen and Rosita weapons at the ready. The others follow. Daryl asks Carol if she is okay. She says no and he hugs her. Glenn asks Maggie if she is okay and she says, "They're all dead . . . I can't anymore." Rick tells Primo to talk. How did he get the bike? He found it. Was Negan in the building or here? Both. "I'm Negan, shithead." Rick shoots Primo in the head. Carol looks stunned. She clings to the crucifix until her hand bleeds.

Final Thoughts
- Paula and Carol are the same despite Paula's protestations that they are not. They are both women that became strong due to the zombiepocalypse. They both kill to protect themselves and do what they believe to be the right thing for their group. They have even killed enough people to be in the double digits. The difference is that Paula let that destroy her humanity while Carol is feeling guilty about those deaths and it is causing her to question her actions. If they had met before the zombiepocalypse they would probably have been friends.
- What is Carol so afraid of? Becoming like Paula. Where each life you take is just a number. People become expendable.
- The fight between Donnie and the women was really telling of the type of people that each of these women are. Maggie and Carol quickly come to Paula's defense even though they are her captors. They care about people. Carol has a history with spousal abuse so seeing a man hit a woman would really affect her. But Paula just calls them stupid and Donnie as just a body to keep her bed warm. He is not human therefore not worth it. Helping your "enemy" is a stupid thing to do in her mind.
- I thought it was very interesting that 'Chelle referred to Rick's group as the bad guys. As viewers we have always seen the situation through their eyes. But from an outsiders point of view Rick's group is the bad guys. They attacked the Saviors and planned to kill them all. Sure, some of the Saviors tried to steal some of their belongings but Daryl blew them up and they had no idea of Alexandria's location. This new proactive approach that Rick is leading his group on has already seen some negative repercussions. It could easily lead them to lose their humanity and become like the Saviors. Even Andy from Hilltop mentioned that they seemed scarier than the Saviors.
- Religion played a role throughout this episode. Carol tells Paula that her faith is what got her through her daughter's death but that is exactly when she started to lose her faith. I think part of the time she was pretending to be religious to seem weak. Many people seem to see religion as a weakness. But I believe that Carol might be trying to regain her faith. Her guilt and struggle to kill seem to be bringing her back to that place of faith.
- This is the prayer Catholics say using the crucifix ( I have emphasized the words that struck me as the most pertinent for Carol):
Look down upon me, good and gentle Jesus,
while before Thy face I humbly kneel and,
with burning soul,
pray and beseech Thee
to fix deep in my heart lively sentiments
of faith, hope and charity;
true contrition for my sins,
and a firm purpose of amendment.
While I contemplate,
with great love and tender pity,
Thy five most precious wounds,
pondering over them within me
and calling to mind the words which David,
Thy prophet, said of Thee, my Jesus:
They have pierced My hands and My feet,
they have numbered all My bones." Amen.
- How great was it that Carol was so honest with Daryl about how she felt. She was not alright and he knew she needed a hug.
- I really do think they will kill Carol by the end of the season. Her need to amend for her sins and any possible redemption she attains by the end of the season will seal her fate. I hope I am wrong.
- This whole we are all Negan thing is really bothering me. That would be fine if they hadn't announced that Jeffrey Dean Morgan was hired to play Negan. It seems like an unnecessary red herring.

The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 12 "Not Tomorrow Yet"

If it wasn't us it was gonna be you.

Carol "shopping" for food at the pantry.  She gathers acorns in the woods and kills a zombie while doing so. She is still wearing cardigans and baking cookies. She hands a Tupperware full of cookies to several Alexandrians. Tobin tries to say no to the cookies. She tells him to try one of them. He says they are the best beet and acorn cookies he ever had. Rick returns with the others. Rick tells Aaron to get Olivia so she can inventory the supplies he brought. He tells Sasha to gather everyone at the church so they can discuss something. He tells Carol they are going to have to fight. Morgan comes up behind Carol and tells her it's been weeks since they talked. He asks her why she didn't tell Rick about what happened. She told the others to keep it quiet. She wants to move past it. He says that her keeping the secret is as if she did it too. She says that it is not. She tells him to go. She stands stands for a minute and we see she left a cookie on Sam's grave.

Town meeting where Rick explains the deal Maggie made with Hilltop. He says that the Saviors would have eventually found them and if they tried to fight them when they are low on food they could lose. Fighting and defeating the Saviors is how they keep Alexandria. He says it is a group decision. He asks if anyone objects. Morgan stands up and asks if they can beat the Saviors. Morgan wants to compromise. Rick wants to attack them before the Saviors attack Alexandria. He wants to keep the element of surprise and kill all of the Saviors. Morgan replies that, "Where there is life there is possibility." "We are not trapped in this. None of you are trapped in this." Rick, "Morgan, they always come back." Morgan replies, "Come back when they're dead too." Rick says, "Then we'll stop them." Morgan ends with, "I'm not talking about the walkers." Haunted by the dead? Rick thinks it is a mistake to talk to the Saviors first.  Aaron stands up, he won't let what happened with the Wolves happen with the Saviors. Rick ends with, "We don't shy away from it. We live, We kill them all. We don't all have to kill. But the people that are going to stay here, they do have to accept it." That last comment was aimed at Morgan.

Carol lies in bed. She gets up and writes in a journal. She is keeping track of all of the people she has killed. She has killed eighteen. Maggie talks to Glenn about going with the group to kill the Saviors. She says she will stay outside in the perimeter where it it safer. She is the one that made the deal. She feels responsible and therefore obligated to go. Carol walks around town smoking. Tobin asks her for a cigarette. At fist she says no then she sits next to him on his porch and shares her cigarette with him. He tells her. "You can do things that just terrify me." Carol, "How? How do you think I do those things?" Tobin, "You're a mom. "Was" she corrects him. "You are, it's not the cookies or the smiles, It's the hard stuff. The scary stuff. It's how you can do it. It's strength. You're a mom to most of the people here." " Carol asks, "To you too?" "No, you're something else to me." She leans in and they kiss. "Well, it's not tomorrow yet." What?! When did this happen? What happened to Daryl? Abraham packs. He tells Rosita he is moving out. She asks why and he simply replies that it happens. She won't let him leave until he tells her why. "When I first met you, I thought you were the last woman on Earth. You're not." What a douche.

Andy describes the saviors location to Rick. He draws a map for them. He tells them all he can remember. Tara tells Denise that she loves her. She wanted to say it before leaving. Tara wants her to go with her on the two week trip she is going on with Heath. Denise can't leave because she is the only doctor but she will tell Tara she loves her when she gets back. Rick and the group try to figure out where the Saviors' armory is if they even have one. Daryl says they have done more with less. Andy says the guards won't be sleeping. Rick says the guards will let them in. They are going to give the Saviors Gregory's head.

The RV and its caravan of cars stop on the road. Rick orders people around. Gabriel is part of the group. "I'm not going anywhere. I wanted to learn and you taught me for a reason." Rick asks why he is still wearing his priestly vestments. "I'm still who I was, I think. And it will be harder for them to see me in the dark." Rosita approaches Carol. She almost told everyone what Morgan did to the group. Carol defends Morgan. Morgan doesn't want to kill. Rosita says "We don't wanna kill. We don't like it. It happens." Carol smokes another cigarette. Glenn and Heath kill some zombies in the woods. They are going to cut off one of the heads and pretend it is Gregory's. Heath has never had to kill a living person. Glenn tells him he hasn't either. He asks Heath if he ever saw something that wouldn't let him eat or sleep. "Killing somebody has gotta worse than that. . . So ya I'm nervous for the whole thing." He cuts off the zombie's head. Rick says they will take a look around and scope out the place. They will go in a couple of hours before dawn. If they don't like what they see they will leave and make a new plan. "This is how we eat." Carol asks why Maggie is part of the group. Carol volunteers to stay with Maggie. She doesn't think Maggie should be out there. Rick reluctantly agrees. Jesus and Andy pick a zombie head. Jesus says the nose is wrong. Rick picks up the head and punches it to break the nose. He tells Andy to say Gregory put up a fight. "The Saviors are scary but those pricks got nothing on you." You got that right.

It's nighttime and a car drives up to a building with a giant satellite. Lights come on and a man yells, "Stop right there." The driver yells that it is Andy from Hilltop. He gets out of the car with the head. Two armed men approach him. He tries to hand the bag to them but they don't want it. He reaches in and pulls out the head. One of the men seems happy about the head the other inspects it closely. Andy tells them that he hurt his hand breaking Gregory's nose and that's why it looks that way. The man grabs the head and mimics Gregory. He tells him he will go get Craig, they will go home, and and bring supplies the following week. Daryl sneaks up behind the guard left behind and slits his throat. The others carry the body away. The other guard comes out with Craig. Michonne runs her sword through him. They hide his body and Andy and Craig go back to the car while the others go inside with their weapons at the ready. They split up down the corridors. Rick, Daryl, and Michonne go in a room. Rick finds a man sleeping inside. He holds his knife over the man's head and plunges it in his skull. He pulls out the bloody knife and moves on. Glenn and Heath find another room where two men lie sleeping. They each have a knife in their hands and approach one of the men. Glenn holds the knife over the man's head and cries as he kills him. Heath goes to kill the other man but Glenn stops him. He kills the man for Heath. Heath nods his thanks. Glenn notices pictures of people with their heads bashed in. It is a macabre collection of Polaroids reminiscent of the Governor's fish tank.

Back in the car Tara asks Gabriel if he is still a priest. He tells her how Rick and Carl taught him how to use weapons and contribute. He is still a priest. She confesses that she lied to Denise. She told Denise that she loved her to cover up the fact that she had done something like this before and didn't like it (attacking the prison with the Governor). Both Jesus and Gabriel asks if she loves Denise. She says yes. Jesus says, "Then you know what you're fighting for." Abraham and Sasha walk down a hallway. No one is in the first room and the second is locked. A man walks out of another room and slashes at Abraham. Sasha stabs the man but he hits an alarm. Maggie and Carol hear it and Maggie wants to go in. Carol won't let Maggie go. She asks Maggie what she is doing here and Maggie says she has to be there. Carol replies, "You're supposed to be someone else." A mother perhaps? Carol tells Maggie that she is staying right where she is.

Tara, Jesus, and Gabriel get out of the car. Jesus orders Andy to take Craig back to the Hilltop and he covers his face with a bandanna. Rick, Daryl, and Michonne shoot at some people. Aaron hides out in a room and  kills a man, "If it wasn't us it was gonna be you." A full on gun battle ensues with everyone. Aaron tries to kick open a locked door. As the Saviors try to leave Tara shoots them. Glenn and Heath make it into a room. It is the armory. They shoot at the closed door where several Saviors had been shooting at them. They open the door and they are all dead. One man isn't quite dead. He points a gun at them and a shot rings. Jesus shot the man. "So, this is the next world." Outside, Gabriel tells an injured Savior to drop his gun. When he won't he quotes scripture and shoots the man ending with an amen.

Rick and the group make it outside to cars. Glenn tells Heath he should go back to Alexandria before going out again with Tara. He says no. Morgan makes something with a soldering iron. Heath and Tara take off. Rick talks to Michonne. She wonders which of the people they killed was Negan. A man rides out on a motorcycle. He gets shot. Daryl attacks him and asks him where he got the bike. It is Daryl's bike. A woman's voice can be heard over the man's walkie. She tells them to lower their weapons. They have Carol and Maggie.

Final Thoughts
- Carol's journal notes: R, K, D, Terminus/Courtyard 3?, Candle Woman 4, Ws 7, 18. I am assuming K is for Karen and D is for Dave. Ws is for wolves. On the talking dead they said that Candle Woman was Gareth's mother Mary form Terminus. I can't figure out who R is supposed to be. Any suggestions?
- No one made it to the end of the episode without killing the living. Even though Glenn spared Heath from killing that man in the room they still shot a bunch of people through the armory door. I still appreciate what Glenn tried to do for Heath.
- What is Morgan welding? A real prison cell?
- I get the feeling Carol might die by the end of the season. The fact that Tobin referred to her as being everyone's mom seems to be the death knell. She stood up for Morgan when Rosita wanted to tell his secret. This could be the beginning of her redemption. Usually when a character attains redemption they die. Will she sacrifice herself to save Maggie? One mother for another?
- I'm assuming this was just one building the Saviors have, probably just an outpost. We will probably learn over the next few episodes how many Saviors are left and where they really live.

The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 11 "Knots Untie"

You're world is about to get a whole lot bigger.

Abraham tells a story from his army days to Sasha. He talks about Maggie having a baby. Sasha thinks they are having a baby because of the way things go in this new world. Sasha tells him he won't see her tomorrow because she is starting a new shift and Eugene will now be his patrol partner. He seems sad to lose her as a partner. I can't tell if she switched with Eugene on purpose. Does she have feelings for Abraham but doesn't want to mess up his relationship with Rosita? Rosita wakes Abraham up. It appears he was thinking of Sasha while he was with Rosita. She tosses him a necklace she made for him from a cracked brake light on the fuel truck. He stares at the necklace while he thinks about Sasha.

Maggie is tying some poles together. Glenn walks up. She tells him about tomato plants that they are planting. He tells her not to worry the plants will grow. They hear a noise and see Denise call Abraham who runs down to the cell with her. We see Jesus look at a painting on a wall and Carl comes up from behind and points a gun at him. Jesus tells Carl he was waiting for Carl's parents to get dressed. Rick and Michonne rush down to them half dressed. That does not go unnoticed by Carl. Daryl, Abraham and the others join them. Rick asks Jesus how he escaped. One guard can't watch two exits. Or third floor windows. Daryl seems pissed. Jesus tells them that their arsenal is well equipped but their food supply is low. He sends his complements to the chef who left a cookie for him. She is not there. "We got off to a bad start. But we are on the same side, the living side." He tells them about his community. His job is to find other settlements to trade with. He thought Rick and Daryl looked like trouble. "I was wrong. You're good people and this is a good place." Jesus says they raise live stock and grow food. He wants to show them his community. Maggie asks if he was already trading with other groups. "You're world is about to get a whole lot bigger."

Daryl fixes the RV's engine. Denise tries to give him homemade oatcake. He asks if she is doing this because he tried to get the soda for her. Yes, and because he reminds her of someone she used to know. He hopes it tastes better than it looks. Carl asks Rick if he is sure about Jesus's community. Rick thinks if it is true it could be the start of everything. Rick tells Carl that he and Michonne just happened last night. Carl is cool with it. He tells Carl to get his stuff. Carl says he will stay behind and keep Alexandria safe. He doesn't think he would make the best first impression with his messed up face. Abraham and Maggie join Daryl and Rick. Glenn has his hand on Maggie's belly. Abraham asks Glenn if he was trying to have a baby when he and Maggie have sex (or pouring the Bisquick). Abraham says he is happy that they have the guts to do something like have a baby during the zombiepocalypse. Glenn responds, "We're trying to build something, me and her. All of us." Rick puts his hand on Michonne's knee. She holds his hand. Rick stops when he sees a recent car crash. Jesus says it is one of his group. Rick stops the RV and they all get out. Rick points his gun at Jesus. "If this is a trick this won't end will for you." Jesus says his people are in trouble. His group doesn't have a lot of fighters. He asks to borrow a gun but Daryl quickly says no. Daryl wants to know if this is a trick. Rick will save Jesus's people but he wants Jesus to stay behind with one of his group. Maggie volunteers.  He gives Maggie orders to shoot Jesus if she hears a whistle. They go inside the building.

Rick and the gang cautiously make their way inside the building. Zombies can be heard growling. Rick and Michonne quickly dispatch three zombies. They find a couple of people and reassure them that they are there to help. Glenn and Daryl kill two more zombies. They find another man. He wants to find his friend that was hurt in the crash. Abraham walks down a hallway and a zombie can be heard growling. He walks up to a man and pulls his knife out. It almost looks like he was going to kill him. Daryl gets his attention and they all make their way to the RV. One of the men introduces himself to Maggie. He is Harlan. They were bringing back medication. Harlan is a doctor. Glenn asks about prenatal vitamins. He was an obstetrician so he owes them. Jesus asks Freddy (the injured man that Abraham almost killed) if he is okay. Freddy thought Abraham was going to kill him. He saw his wife that died before the zombiepocalypse. Abraham just stares at Freddy. The RV gets stuck in the  muddy road. Jesus says not to worry since they have arrived at their destination, the Hilltop.

The group make their way down a dirt road to the gates. Two men tell the group to give up their weapons. Harlan tells the guards that he vouches for Rick's group. Rick wants the leader to come out to them. Jesus says no, "Don't you see what just happened? I'm letting you keep your guns." Hilltop ran out of ammo months ago. Jesus tells them that he trusts them and for Rick and his group to trust his group. Jesus orders one of the men to open the gates. The gates open and we see a large plantation house and some trailers. A chicken coop and a barbecue. The trailers came from a FEMA camp. The plantation is called Barrington House a living history museum. The upstairs windows allow them to see for miles in every direction. Jesus shows them inside. A door opens and a man walks out. It is Gregory, Hilltop's leader. Gregory tells them to get cleaned up. Rick says they're fine. Gregory tells them to get washed up before he will talk to them. Rick wants Maggie to talk to Gregory. He shouldn't do it and Maggie needs to start doing these things (Deanna was grooming her to be a leader in Alexandria and she's less likely to pull a weapon on him). Abraham asks Daryl how long Rick and Michonne have been together. He asks if Daryl ever thinks about settling down now that things have settled. Daryl says, "You think shit's settled?"

Maggie walks into Gregory's office. She corrects him when he calls her Natalie. He tells her he visited Barrington House when it was a museum. He is kind of sleazy and hitting on her. Jesus told Gregory that her group saved their doctor. She wants to know how they survived since the beginning. He is good at this and doesn't get hung up on the details. (Does this mean he let's others deal with the details while he sits pretty in the nice house?). He asks about Alexandria. She tells him they started planting food and they have a decent weapons cache. She wants to talk trade. He tells her that Jesus told him their food situation is challenged. He is happy to help but he can't give things away for free. He offers to let her people work at the Hilltop for food. He wants her to stay. She tells him to stop hitting on her. They need things and she needs things. She offers to trade. He calls her Natalie again and tells her that they are fine. Is her group doing fine?

Jesus tells Rick and Daryl that he wants to trade but they don't really need ammo urgently. Rick tells him that they want food. Jesus tells them that Hilltop is doing well now and Alexandria will do well next. He wants a few days to convince Gregory. Michonne agrees to give him a few days. Some man walks in and tells him that "they" are back. Gregory asks Ethan what happened. Ethan tells them that Negan kept a Craig because it wasn't enough. Another man asks Gregory if the drop was light. Gregory says it wasn't. Negan will keep Craig alive if Ethan delivers a message to Gregory. Ethan says, "I'm sorry." and stabs Gregory. Rick fights with Ethan. Another man and Abraham fight. The man almost chokes Abraham. Abraham hears Sasha's voice saying, "Maybe that's why. Because the way things go," (That is what she said to him that morning). Daryl brakes the man's arm to stop him from killing Abraham.Ethan fights with Rick and almost chokes him. Glenn goes to help Rick but Ethan yells, "Anyone trying to stop me is killing my brother." Craig, Negan's hostage, is Ethan's brother. Michonne tells Ethan to drop his knife. Rick stabs Nathan in the neck. Rick stands up and says, "What?" A woman punches Rick. The Michonne pushes the one to the ground and tells her, "Don't." You do not mess with Michonne's man. Jesus steps in and comes between Rick and one of the guards. Jesus tells Rick to put the gun away. Things aren't as simple as they might seem. He wants Rick to give him some time. The doctor attends to Gregory. Abraham lies on the ground smiling. Daryl asks him if he is okay. Abraham replies, "I'm better than alright." He stands up and we see the necklace Rosita gave him lying on the ground.

Jesus tells the group that Gregory will be alright. Rick tells Jesus that Abraham had a run in with Negan's group. Who is Negan? He is the leader of a group called the Saviors. They made a lot of demands and threats and beat a teenage boy to death in front of everyone. Gregory is not good with confrontation so he made a deal with Negan. They give the Saviors half of everything in exchange, the Saviors don't kill them. The Hilltop doesn't fight back because most of their group doesn't know how to fight. They also don't know how many people make up the Saviors. Daryl says that Negan is just a boogeyman. Abraham tells Jesus that they killed some of Negan's gang. Daryl says they will take out Negan in exchange for food, medicine, and a cow.

Rick discusses the situation with Michonne, Maggie, and Glenn. He says, " They have food, we don't. We don't have enough of anything. Except us. What we can do. This is the trade." Maggie says the trade will cost them something. Gregory is up and wants to talk to Maggie. Rick tells her that Deanna was right about her. Jesus apologizes for Gregory being a prick.

Maggie tells Gregory that he was lucky her group was there. She tells him that her group can handle Negan and give them their man back. He doesn't care about the hostage. She says if they give them supplies they will rescue their man and take care of Negan. He wants to know why she balked at his offer for them to work for the food. She says they need the food and will work for it. She wants half of what they have. Negan will keep wanting more and soon they will have nothing left. Without ammo and fighters they will be dead. So she wants half of everything they have right now. "You see? I have leverage." They have a deal.  The group loads food into the RV. Rick tells one of the men that they will get Craig back. He wants to know everything the man knows about Negan's compound. He also wants the man to go with them. The man agrees. Jesus wants to go with them. Rick assures Michonne that they will win this fight because they have to win. Maggie is getting a sonogram thanks to Harlan. Baby Rhee looks healthy. Glenn shows Michonne the sonogram picture. She smiles and then shows the photo to Daryl who half smiles and then passes the photo to Abraham. He smiles back at Glenn. Glenn nods and smiles.

 Final Thoughts
- Best line for the episode is a tie for Abraham and Rick. Abraham's making the Bisquick comment and Glenn's reaction were priceless. Rick saying "What?" after stabbing Ethan in the neck as if it's the most natural thing in the world.
- Gregory is super creepy and sleazy. I was glad that Maggie didn't take any of his crap. She even called him out on it. She did a great job negotiating with him, Rick was right to have her be the spokesperson for the group.
- Abraham is clearly in love with Sasha. He was thinking of her the entire time he was with Rosita at the beginning of the episode. He also thought of her when he was almost choked to death. Freddy talked about seeing his wife before he thought he was going to die and Abraham saw Sasha not Rosita.
- I don't think that things will go as easily for Rick's gang when they encounter the Saviors. Rick thinks that just because his group has strong fighters they can defeat anyone but they have no idea how many people form the Saviors, how many of them are fighters, or how many weapons they have. They could be like the wolves but well armed.
 - Where was Carol? Daryl mentions that the cookie maker wasn't there. Was she out patrolling? Wouldn't she have wanted to go to Hilltop?
