The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 15 "Something They Need"

 We are not monsters.

Zombie walks by the beach. Our gang travels. We hear in voice over as Tara tells Rick about Oceanside. Enid asks Carl if he ever thinks about who he's killed. He replies yes. Rick tells Tara not to feel bad. She says she does feel bad. Several zombies can be seen walking by the shore. There are a couple of ships wrecked by the shore.

Maggie tells a Hilltopper, Eduardo, they need a tarp for the plants. She leaves to go dig up a blueberry bush. They need to start acting like they are going to be around for a long time. Gregory walks around writing notes in his notebook. Rick helps Michonne climb a tree telling her to watch for the signal. The clock starts when Tara walks into Oceanside. Jesus and Daryl set up some explosives. Aaron is glad Eric came with them. Eric is still upset but he wants to fight the Saviors and be with Aaron. Jesus tells Daryl he wishes he had stopped Sasha and Rosita. Daryl says that they can take care of themselves.

A cell door in Sanctuary opens. Sasha lies on the cell floor. Her guard, David, asks if she is okay. She asks for water. He asks if she remembers him from the night before. She doesn't. He says he provided the rope that was used to tie her up. He says she is pretty as he touches her. He asks if she will do something for him if he gets her water. He rips her shirt and she headbutts him. He responds, "Fighting will only make it last longer." Negan bangs on the wall with Lucille. He can tell David was trying to rape Sasha. He says it is unacceptable behavior since rape is against the rules. He pulls out a giant knife and stabs David in the throat. Negan orders another Savior to get Sasha a new shirt. He apologizes for killing David in front of her and for tying her up. He realizes Sasha was there when he killed Glenn and Sasha. "You've got some beach ball sized lady nuts on you coming in all kamikaze like that." She denies that Rick sent her. She refers to Rick as Negan's bitch. He says he bets she thought this was her end but he says this is the beginning. He gives her his knife. He tells her she can use the knife to kill Negan, slit her wrists, or kill zombie David and join the cause. He is short a man (is he referring to Dwight or Daryl?) and wants her to help him run Sanctuary some day. "I just want you to understand. We are not monsters." He leaves her alone in the dark cell with the knife and dead David.

Sasha's cell floor opens and Eugene walks in carrying water, a pillow, and a blanket. She asks, "What did they do to you?" He says, "They're keepin' me safe." Negan told him about his offer. He tells her she should accept. "I believed I could be brave. That I could be a survivor like Abraham was . . . I know now that I was full-tilt delusional. I have never in my life been as scared as I was that night in the woods . . . fully believing my number to be called, then seeing it happen to someone brave, a survivor. . .  I just, I couldn't. Being here means I'll never have to again. And neither will you if you just day yes. Please say yes. He would want you to. He wouldn't. I do. We're still here. Things have changed. We can change with them. We have to." She tells him to go. David is still dead in the corner. Eugene notices David is starting to turn into a zombie. Sasha tells him to go. She looks at David. His hand is twitching and he opens his zombie eyes.

Maggie is outside of hilltop digging up the blueberry bush. Gregory walks up to her. She wants to know what he wants. He wants to know where her friends are. They went out looking for something they needed. He says she needs to start trusting him. They need to present a united front. She says it would be easier if they were a united front. He apologizes. She says,"It's never too late to change." She says she will talk with him later and asks for him to keep an eye out as she finishes. He agrees and stands behind her holding a knife behind his back. He walks towards her but turns away. He looks around and spots a zombie. Maggie says she will kill it but he says he will do it. He hesitates and she steps forward. He says no and runs towards the zombie. As the zombie gets closer he calls to Maggie to kill it. Another zombie comes up behind him and knocks him to the ground. He calls for Maggie. When she finishes killing her zombie she runs over and kills his zombie. A group of Hilltoppers walk by them. She tells them he hasn't killed one before and he is still learning. One of the Hilltoppers says, "That's not what he told us."

At Oceanside, Natania walks into her cabin. Tara is waiting inside. She points a gun at her and says hi. She orders her to stay quiet and and sit down. Natania says they should have killed Tara. Cyndie walks in. Cyndie says, "You promised." Tara tells her she doesn't have a choice. Tara tells them her friends are going to take this place. They want their guns so they can fight the Saviors. She says they should join them. They were right. There were more Saviors and they came back and killed her friends and girlfriend. They took everything. She wants Natania to talk to Rick. She can call off the attack. "The world can belong to good people, fair people if we're all just brave enough to try." Natanai says the only one that is good and brave is Cyndie. Natania says if they take their guns they will be killing all of them. Cyndie says they should talk to them. Tara says it is too late. An explosion goes off. The Oceansiders run. Two more explosions. Two women run towards the gun shed but Michonne fires her rifle at them. Daryl, Aaron, Eric and Jesus tell them to stop (Jesus even says please). Tara tells them that the explosions were outside of the wall. Natania pretends to have trouble walking. Cyndie grabs a gun and points it at Tara. Tara gives them her gun. She tells them it's not loaded. The Oceansiders run into the woods but are stopped by Tobin, Gabriel, Carl, and others. Rick comes and tells them no one needs to get hurt. They just want what they need. Natania has Tara at gunpoint. Rick tells her, "Let's talk about what we can change." Rick says they will leave them alone if they let Tara go or they will kill Natania. Cyndie announces that Rick's group wants to fight the Saviors. Natania says they will die if they fight. Beatrice says they should try. Cyndie tells Natania it's over. Natania accuses them of forgetting. She will kill Tara and die. Michonne looks at them through the rifle scope. She sees a zombie and warns Rick. A herd of zombies walks towards them from the woods. Our group forms a line with some Oceasiders to protect everyone. They fire at the zombies. When the zombies get close to them some Oceansiders kill them with knives. After it is over Beatrice shakes hands with Rick. Natania says, "No. We're not fighting them with you. So take your damn guns and go."

Sasha's cell door opens and Negan stands there. He smiles. David has the knife in his head. She says, "You win." He replies, "No, you win." He takes back the knife. It will be a while before he believes she is on board. Baby steps. He knows Rick is coming for him. He tells her that she needs to find them a win-win. Tomorrow is going to be a big day. Gregory grabs a bottle of booze from his desk drawer. He looks in the mirror at his blood splattered face. He pours himself a drink and knocks it back. He pulls out a map of Virginia. He calls Kal and tells him he needs him to drive him somewhere. Eugene knocks on Sasha's cell door. He's heard that Sasha agreed to join them. She says, "I was wrong. I can't. I won't. . . And now I am trapped." She asks for him to get her a weapon. She will use it to kill herself before she helps Negan kill her friends. "Please, Eugene, don't let them use me to hurt our people. . . I have to die. Please." Eugene says he will consider it. She says thank you with a creepy smile on her face.

Jesus carries a basket of weapons to their vehicle. The Oceansiders look at them. Gabriel asks Rick if they need all that they are taking. Rick says yes. Carl tells Enid he thinks about the people he's killed and the ones he didn't kill. Tara tells Cyndie they will bring the guns back. Cyndie wants to go with them. Tara thanks Cyndie for all the times she saved her life. She thanks Tara for what they're doing. Rachel asks if they are leaving them any weapons. Tara says no and gives her the finger. Tara says Rick was right. She doesn't have to feel bad.

Sasha paces in her cell. Someone knocks on her door. Eugene stands outside her door. He has decided to grant her request. He slides one of the poison pills to her under the door. She sits against the door and looks like she is going to cry. He says, "For the record I absolutely do not want you to go." He walks away. She shakes her head.

Rick and the gang arrive back at Alexandria. Rosita opens the gate for them. Enid asks if she is okay. Jesus asks her where Sasha is. Rosita replies that someone is there and takes them to the cells. Dwight sits inside. Daryl lunges at Dwight and Rick and Jesus hold him back. Rosita tells them that Dwight wants to help them. Rick asks Dwight if that is true and he says yes. Rick points a gun at him and says, "Okay, get on your knees."

Final Thoughts
- Now we know that it was Dwight that Rosita saw at the end of last week's episode.
- Who told Negan about Rick's plan of attack?
- I think Cyndie, Beatrice, and some of the others should have joined Rick. Maybe they will.
- Negan, just because you don't rape doesn't mean that you are not a monster. There are all sorts of monsters in this world.
- I think Sasha wanted Eugene to giver her a weapon so she could kill Negan. That's why she is so upset that Eugene gave her the poison pill.
- I don't think Gregory would have killed Maggie. He is too weak and too much of a weenie. He is not a physical threat to Maggie but he is still a threat. He could rat her out to Negan. I am assuming that is his plan. I believe that is where he is going to have Kal take him.
- Gregory must have always lied and manipulated people to survive. He is very much like Eugene in that way.
- I don't trust Dwight. I know that now that he has lost Sherry he has nothing to lose but this could all be a trick. Negan already knows what they are planning he could be using Dwight as a decoy.
- I think they should give Daryl a few minutes alone with Dwight in the cell.
- Who will die in the finale? I think Sasha is a high contender. I think she intends to kill Negan no matter what. Not to mention the actress who plays her has already been cast on another show. Rosita could also possibly die. Her whole arc this season has been about getting her revenge for Abraham. Then there is also the possibility that Morgan could die just when he has started killing again.

The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 14 "The Other Side"

It's a long life and then it isn't.

Maggie trains the people at Hilltop. Sasha sharpens her knife. Maggie gets an ultrasound with Enid by her side. While Sasha draws out a map of Sanctuary and crosses it out Maggie works on her plans for Hilltop. Sasha teaches the Hilltoppers knife fighting skills while Maggie and Jesus discuss her plans for Hilltop. Sasha tends to Abraham's grave. Jesus works on something while Maggie sleeps. He signals Sasha to be quiet and hands her a map of Sanctuary. Enid looks on. Daryl sits on a bench sharpening his knife at night. Maggie goes over to him and puts a hand on his shoulder. She leaves him a plate of food. She wipes away tears as she walks back to her trailer. Sasha leaves a cairn on Abraham's grave. Gregory looks out at the Hilltoppers being trained. He drinks in frustration. He is losing control of his domain. Rosita walks into Hilltop and finds Sasha at Abraham's grave. She is here because she needs Sasha's help.

Jesus tells Maggie he grew up in a group home. For the first time he feels like he belongs, now that Sasha and Maggie are there. He's always had a hard time opening up and trusting people. Maggie says he should try it sometime. Maggie wants to trade spears made by their blacksmith for body armor from Kingdom. Sasha walks into the trailer and pulls some bullets out of a hollowed out book. Jesus and Enid walk in. She pretends she was looking for something to read. Jesus tells her she can have the bullets. He asks her not to go. He figured out that she and Rosita are going after Negan. He tells her they can't go after Negan by themselves. She tells him she is not going to change her mind, neither is Rosita. Sasha asks if Maggie knows that Rosita is at Hilltop. Enid says no. She wants Sasha to tell Maggie. Sasha says no. Jesus and Enid volunteer to go with her but she says no. Maggie needs them. Maggie does not need her anymore she has everyone else and they have her. Jesus tells her, "'Cause it's a long life and then it isn't." He tells her that she and Rosita need to talk to Maggie. They owe her that much. Then he walks out. Sasha tells Enid to protect Maggie no matter what. Maggie is the future of Hilltop. She gives Enid a friendship bracelet that is for the baby. Enid says in ten minutes she will tell Maggie what is going on. A man on guard duty rings a warning bell saying the Saviors are coming. Enid grabs Daryl and tells him they need to find Maggie. Sasha and Rosita grab their stuff and hide. Enid hides Maggie and Daryl in the cellar of the house. She will let them out when the Saviors leave. The Saviors enter the manor house. Gregory greets Simon. Gregory wasn't expecting them so soon. He offers Simon some gin. Simon would prefer tequila. He has changing tastes. Simon wants Gregory to tell him where someone is (Daryl I assume). Maggie calls to Daryl to hide further in the cellar. Rosita and Sasha made it out of a tunnel Sasha created after Maggie asked for a quick way out.

Rosita tries to hot wire a car. She notices Sasha's necklace. It's the necklace she made for Abraham. The car won't start to they head out on foot. Sasha asks how Rosita learned to disarm bombs. It's just something she knew. She doesn't want to talk about anything that isn't mission related. Sasha says okay. She tells her about the building set up of Sanctuary. She wants to stay outside and make it clean, maybe survive. Rosita wants to go in to make sure they kill Negan. Sasha says she won't miss. Sasha says if they stay outside they will still be alive and get a second chance, inside they die. Rosita is on a mission. She angrily tells Sasha that she is free to bail on the mission.

Enid runs up to a Savior and offers him some veggies. He corrects her and tells her to call them vegetables. She tells him to take the basket and she will get some more. He tells her to load them herself and she drops the basket. He notices her knife and demands it. He walks into the cellar. Daryl has his knife ready. The Savior looks around and grabs an apple. Maggie notices he has Enid's knife. She looks angry but remains hidden.

Simon walks into the doctor's trailer. Simon is here to take the doctor to Sanctuary. Gregory says nothing. The doctor has patients in Hilltop. He asks why Negan needs two doctors. Simon says they don't need two doctors making it clear that Sanctuary no longer has a doctor. The doctor tells Gregory to make arrangements for his patients. Simon leaves a giant crate of aspirins for Hilltop. Gregory asks to speak to Simon privately. Gregory warns that if he loses his people's trust he could lose control to someone who has crazy ideas. Simon says he hears Gregory's concern and tells Gregory to see him any time if he has that kind of trouble. He'll arrange it so the guard will let him into Sanctuary. Simon writes down directions to Sanctuary and puts it in Gregory's pocket

Daryl and Maggie stare warily from their hiding place as the Savior moves things around. Daryl starts to step forward with his knife up but Maggie stops him. The Savior leaves. Daryl says that Savior deserved to die. Maggie asks him to look at her. He turns around. He says, "I'm sorry" and begins to cry. She tells him it wasn't his fault that Glenn was killed and he says it was. She insists that is wasn't. Daryl is one of the good things in this world. Glenn thought so too. She wanted to kill the Savior too. But they have to win. She hugs Daryl. "Help me win." Gregory stands outside of the manor as the Saviors take the doctor with them. Zombies mill around an enclosed fence. Sasha and Rosita cut a hole in the fence and toss a Molotov cocktail in a car. The fire attracts the zombies and they climb over the fence. Rosita gets into a car and hot wires it. She calls Sasha over. They drive over zombies on their way out.

Sasha looks through the scope of the sniper rifle at the entrance of Sanctuary. She sees the zombie fence and Eugene giving directions to some of the workers. She tells Rosita that Eugene is out there ordering people around. Rosita says that Eugene is playing some angle. Sasha asks if Rosita will teach her to tie the knots she is making. Rosita sets her anger aside and shows Sasha how to tie the knot. Rosita looks through the scope at Eugene. He has the stuffed animal in his pocket. Sasha says they are lucky to have Rosita with them. She knows how to do everything. Rosita tells Sasha about all of the people that taught her all she knows. She says a lot of guys wanted to take care of her because she couldn't. She picked up everything that they could do and did it better. Once she learned all she could from them she left. Sasha wants to know if that is how it was with Abraham. No, he saw that she could handle herself. She never looked back. And then it was over. The thing that kills her is that when they got to Alexandria she pretended that everything was okay because he was having a hard time. Then he left her. She thought she hated Sasha. She's just mad that Abraham figured his stuff out first. She never told anyone before about who she was. She cries saying she wasted time and never told Abraham she was happy that he was happy. Rosita asks if Sasha was happy. Sasha was happy. It wasn't Abraham's time. Abraham was taken out without a fight. Sasha tells Rosita "I got your back." Rosita responds, "And I've got yours." A car can be heard pulling up. Sasha looks out and sees that Dr. Carson has been brought to Sanctuary. Negan walks out. Negan is too close to others for Sasha to get her shot. She asks for Rosita to turn on the walkie. Eugene is heard telling the Saviors that they need more zombies. Any questions should be brought to Eugene himself. Rosita tells Sasha she is ready to go in.

Gregory writes and someone knocks on the door. Jesus walks in. Gregory tells Jesus he noticed that Jesus has been cutting back on scavenging and recruiting. He also has too many people in his trailer. He hands Jesus a list of tasks for the new people. Jesus points out that Gregory is splitting up the group because he is afraid. Gregory tells Jesus to be careful about what he says with all the Saviors coming around. Jesus does not respond well to the threat. Gregory looks out for his friends and Jesus is not his friend. Jesus walks out and runs into Daryl. Daryl asks where are Sasha and Rosita. Eugene talks to a Savior about his new plan for the extra zombies. The man gets shot. Eugene cowers to the ground. Rosita and Sasha run up and tell him they are breaking him out. He says no and tells them to go. He runs back inside. Rosita tells Sasha she is going in. Sasha tells her to keep an eye out as she cuts open the fence. Sasha goes through the fence and closes it behind her. She tells Rosita, "Go. it's not your time. There's got to be a point to it, right? They need you." Sasha runs inside Sanctuary. Rosita hits the fence angrily. Saviors come out and she runs away. She cries as she stops to catch her breath. She turns around and sees someone with a crossbow.

Final Thoughts
- I like seeing Maggie and Jesus working together. They have great rapport. Now they just need to overthrow Gregory.
- Were Maggie and Daryl going to escape through the same tunnel that Rosita and Sasha used?
- Why are the Saviors always creepily hitting on Enid. Sometimes it just sucks to be a teenage girl. You can't even escape creepy guys in the zombiepocalypse.
- I loved that moment between Maggie and Daryl in the cellar. Daryl really needed to hear that it wasn't his fault that Glenn died. Maggie doesn't blame him. I don't think anyone in the group blames him. It was all Negan.
- It seemed to me that the Hilltop doctor knew the doctor from Sanctuary. Old colleague perhaps?
- Gregory should be very careful about threatening Jesus. Jesus is now ready to stand up to him. Maggie showed him that he could and should. I'm pretty sure that the majority of people at Hilltop would prefer Maggie and Jesus as leaders over Gregory.
- Is the person with the crossbow Daryl or Dwight?

The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 13 "Bury Me Here"

To injure an opponent is to injure oneself.

The knights of Kingdom prepare their offering for the Saviors. It is just one cantaloupe. Someone cries out in the dark. It is Carol. She lights a lamp beside her bed. She lights a cigarette and smokes for a minute before she gets out of bed. Morgan teaches a child Aikido early in the morning. It is Benjamin's brother. He is learning Aikido because he wants to be like his brother. Carol leaves her cabin. She walks down a street knocking down a zombie as she goes her way. She grabs a street sign and uses it to kill several walkers outside of the gates to Kingdom. Some knights come out and look surprised to see her. She asks Benjamin for Morgan's location. She asks Morgan why Jesus brought Daryl and the others to Kingdom. He tells her that they wanted to see if Kingdom would work with them. Carol wants to know if what Daryl told her was true about Alexandria making a deal with the Saviors. She wants to know if everyone is okay. Morgan tells her that is between her and Daryl. He kept her secret for her. But if she wants to go to Alexandria he will go with her. "You shouldn't go alone. You found what you wanted, right? You got away from everyone. Is it what you wanted? Was it just too late to get away?" She just stands there crying. He will leave with her right now to Alexandria. She walks away. Benjamin asks if he can walk back to the cabin with her. He wants to learn from her. She killed five zombies by herself. She tells him no. On her way back she notices the zombie she injured has been killed. Someone watches her from the shadows. We see Richard walk around the back of a building. He looks down at a child's backpack that has "Katy" written on it. He begins to dig.

Ezekiel looks out at Kingdom. A woman walks out to him. She tells him most of the plants have weevils. They have to cut and burn the infected plants before they get to the main crop. He tells her to do what must be done. She responds, "Here's the beautiful thing, your majesty. You can tear it out and cut it down. You can burn it and throw it all away. But if you want. It can all grow back." One of the knights pushes a wheelbarrow of cantaloupes. Benjamin walks into Morgan's room and thanks him for the book on Aikido. "To injure an opponent is to injure oneself. Get injured no matter what." He brought a painting for Morgan's new place. It's of a matador. Morgan hangs it on the wall. Morgan and Richard look at Benjamin and his brother. Richard says Benjamin is too young to be a father. Morgan asks if he was a father. Richard says his life was perfect. He is sorry that they don't agree on how to deal with the Saviors. He knows Morgan is a good man. "The day's coming where you can't be that good. When that happens, don't beat yourself up about it." Ezekiel orders everyone to the truck and tells Jerry to leave the cobbler he's eating behind. Jerry looks at him with puppy dog eyes and Ezekiel relents.

As they drive down the road they have to stop because someone has blocked the road with shopping carts. They all get out of the truck with their weapons at the ready. Richard orders the knights into position. The carts are in the shape of an arrow. As they walk around a building they come upon a grave that has a sign that says "Bury Me Here." The grave is what Richard was digging earlier. Ezekiel says, "This world drives one mad. . . It is mere luck we are not all insane." Benjamin says it is not luck that they are not crazy. Ezekiel made them another world. The Saviors wait at the rendezvous point. Jerry tells Gavin not to interrupt the king and gets hit in the head by a Savior. Gavin tells him kings don't exist anymore. He asks for the day's offering. It is just a few cantaloupes. Gavin wants their guns. "You can give up your guns or you can try to use them. What's it gonna be?" Richard says they should give the Saviors the gun. Ezekiel wants the Savior to give Morgan his stick back and then they will give them their guns. Gavin says he gave Ezekiel a choice. Ezekiel orders his people to give them their guns. Gavin says they are short on their offering. Ezekiel goes to count and now he is missing one when earlier he had the correct amount. Gavin is going to teach them a lesson since they haven't held up their end of the bargain. One of the Savior's points a gun at Richards head. All of the knights look tense except for Richard. He says, "Just do it." The Savior says okay and points his gun at someone else and shoots.

Benjamin has been shot in the leg. Ezekiel tells Gavin they need to get back to the Kingdom. Gavin orders his man to give Morgan his stick. They will then need to get them their last cantaloupe. He then tells them they can go. They rush to get Benjamin in the truck. They are going to take him to Carol's cabin since he gave her a lot of medical supplies. Richard looks shocked. He just stands there. Carol plants tomato seeds in her garden. The knights pull up with Benjamin. They put him on the kitchen table. He is losing a lot of blood. She holds his hands. Benjamin says "To injure an opponent is to injure oneself." Richard looks like he is about to cry. Blood drips on the floor. Benjamin is dead and covered with a sheet. Ezekiel apologizes for coming to Carol's cabin. Morgan walks out. Carol tells him to wait. Morgan walks to the grave with the sign. He is losing his mind. He is having flashbacks to his "clear" days. He yells and looks like he is about to slit his wrists. He kicks a box and finds a cantaloupe underneath. He remembers Richard walking away from the box when they got out of the truck to move investigate the cart barricade.

Morgan bursts into Richard's room and throws the box that had the missing cantaloupe at him. Richard says, "It was supposed to be me. That's what Gavin said that I'd be first. I was going to give my life to show you. Then something else happened. We have done nothing to stop them. Nothing." Morgan just stares at him. Richard tells him about how it was during the zombiepocalypse. There were always babies crying at the camp he lived in. He did nothing to help others. Then there was a fight and a fire and he lost his wife. After three days of horror and terror he lost his daughter because he didn't do something. He waited. He asks Morgan to listen to him. They can use what happened. They need to convince the Saviors that they understand how things work. When they gain the Saviors' trust they will kill them and then join Alexandria to destroy them. He tells Morgan he will have to kill. "Someone had to die. I tried to be the one. That didn't happen. So I'll be the one to lead our army. To crush the Saviors, destroy them." He will come clean to Ezekiel and spend the rest of his life trying to make up for what he did. Morgan sits in his room. He sees Ezekiel comforting Benjamin's brother.

The next morning Ezekiel watches as several workers throw away the weevil infested crops. He loads the truck with the one cantaloupe (the first scene of the episode) and waits at the rendezvous. Morgan asks Richard if he told Ezekiel. Richard wants to wait until they get back. Ezekiel says they will talk about it now. Morgan walks over to the spot where Benjamin was shot and picks up his stick and Benjamin's stick. The Saviors arrive. Gavin asks how Benjamin is doing. Silence. He looks upset and realizes Benjamin is dead. He orders the Savior who shot Benjamin to walk back to Sanctuary. He asks if they have the cantaloupe. Richard carries it out to him. Richard tells Gavin that they get it. Morgan comes up behind Richard and hits him with his stick. When Richard falls to the ground Morgan begins to choke him and hit his head against the ground. No one stops him. After he kills him he tells them that Richard set the whole thing up. He blocked the road and hid the cantaloupe. He wanted to get something started between the Kingdom and the Saviors. Morgan tells Gavin he wanted to show him that they get it. "We understand what it is we need to do. That we know how to go on." Gavin says, "Good. Next week, same time." Morgan replies, "We understand." The Saviors drive away. Ezekiel is upset about Richard's betrayal. Morgan tells him that Richard wanted to die. "Thought he could choose and that's why Duane had to die." Morgan slips and says Duane instead of Benjamin. Ezekiel tells Morgan he should not be alone in that spot. Morgan yells, "Go. Not now, Man, I said not now! You all just go." The knights get in their truck. Morgan kneels by Richard's body.

Morgan drags Richard's body down the street. He buries Richard. He pulls up the backpack with "Katy" written on it. He covers the backpack up with dirt. A group of zombies walk towards him. He kills all of them with his stick. He knocks on Carol's door with a blood-soaked stick. He asks her if she wants to know what happened in Alexandria. She asks what happened to him. He tells her he strangled Richard because he got Benjamin killed. He asks her again if she wants to know what happened in Alexandria. He tells her that Negan beat Glenn and Abraham to death with a baseball bat and that everything that Alexandria does is for the Saviors now. The Saviors also killed Spencer and Olivia. Jesus brought Rick and the others to Kingdom because Rick wants to fight them. He walks away. He says he is going to kill zombies one by one. She tells him to wait. "You can go and not go. Please, please." Carol walks down a street with two bags. The doors to Kingdom open. She finds Ezekiel planting with Benjamin's brother. She tells him she is sorry. She is going to be there now. They have to get ready. They have to fight. "We do, but not today." He continues to plant. She joins him. Morgan sits on the porch of the cabin sharpening the end of his stick into a point.

Final Thoughts
- Benjamin, we hardly knew ye.
- Will Benjamin's death be the impetus Ezekiel needs to join Rick in his fight against Negan? Will it be enough?
- Richard foreshadowed (prophesied?) his own death when he told Morgan he was going to have to kill.
- Gavin seemed upset at Benjamin's death and he punished the Savior that killed him. Will he turn against Negan when the battle begins? He and Dwight both seem to have some conscience left.
- I understand Richard's desire to push Ezekiel into action but his plan was flawed. He let himself be lead by his own hubris and paid for it with his life. He assumed the Saviors would react in a certain way but some Saviors are unstable (see the Savior that shot Benjamin). Like many of life's plans things rarely go how we expect. Not to  mention that anytime someone tries to act against the Saviors on their own it rarely works out (see Spencer and Rosita's failed plans).
- Morgan is now ready to kill. I guess he has Richard to thank for that. He wanted to make him into a killer. And he succeeded. Sharpening his stick into a spear shows his change.
- Will Morgan be able to come back from this? He lost his mind twice in this episode. First, when he killed Richard. Second, when he had flashbacks to his clear days. He is lucky that Carol gave him another option besides going off on his own to clear. He can go and not go. Will he join the fight or stay in isolation?

Her response,"We're fighting the fight." They hear something and go towards it. They see two Saviors hitting golf balls. They look at the supplies in the back of the men's truck. The next minute they are back in their van with supplies they stole. Michonne wants to know when they will go back. Rick wants to keep going a little more. Another day or two.

She doesn't know how long it will be until they get the guns but she can't wait. Tara tells Rosita to save her attitude for the Saviors. Rosita tells Tara she is going to find the guns they need and then she walks away.

Michonne smiles at a sleeping Rick as she drives. As she is making coffee by the side of the van she hears a noise and turns to find a deer. She goes to the van and grabs a gun. Rick follows her. They creep through the woods but the deer is gone. He says he owes her a deer from when the Saviors came and they took the deer she had killed. She points something out to Rick. They walk towards a chain link fence. A zombie walks by. It is wearing a military uniform and carrying a gun. Rick picks up a bullet casing and sniffs it. Michonne says something serious happened in this place. Rick thinks there might be some serious guns there. Several zombies can be heard. Rosita wanders by an abandoned house. She sees a gun lying by the doorway. As she goes towards the door a zombie comes out and heads towards her. She slices at the zombie with her machete and picks up what turns out to be a toy gun. She throws it in anger. Rick and Michonne climb up to the top of a building. They walk towards the zombie sounds. A huge group of zombies roam a field where a fair had been set up behind the building. Rick and Michonne believe they have found their guns. They smile. Michonne uses a sniper rifle and starts to shoot at an arcade game. Suddenly the floor underneath them crumbles and they fall. They both laugh.

Michonne and Rick look around the room and see several boxes of ready to eat meals and canned goods. They laugh at their good fortune. Gabriel sits in his church. Rosita walks in and tells him she didn't find any guns. She had a gun and was prepared to kill Negan even if it cost her life. She is mad at Gabriel because she listened to him. He tells her, "I said you weren't supposed to die and that you shouldn't do the thing that you were planning to do because we needed you. Still do. Even a fool like me can see that. It's easier to be dead and if it's my fault you are still alive well, I'm just gonna have to live with that. I decide to meddle. I did something that a knew was right. I knew the stakes were very high. You can certainly blame me for the fact that you have a life. But after that, what are you going to do with it?  How are you gonna make what needs to happen happen? Anything is possible until your heart stops beating. Certainly more than yelling at a fool." She walks away without saying a word.

Rick and Michonne open the boxes filled with ready to eat meals and canned goods. Michonne wants to know what happens after they get the guns to Jadis and defeat Negan. How do they reorder the world after that? Rick believes the communities can do that together. Michonne wants to know who will be in charge. She thinks Rick should be in charge. Rick does not want that. He says, "But the two of us, you and me, reordering things together. I want that. If it's something you wanted." She smiles and says "Yeah." They kiss. He says they can take their time getting the guns. The place is clear and locked up tight. He pulls out a bag of chili with mac and cheese. She takes it from him smiling. Later that night Rick sits in bed with his head in his hands.

Tara fiddles with the seashell bracelet Cyndie gave her. Judith looks up and smiles at her. Tara gives her the bracelet. She tells Judith about Cyndie risking her life for Tara. Tara knows Rick won't leave the Oceanside group without their guns. The group should fight with them since the Saviors killed their men. But Oceanside just wants to hide. "What makes our lives worth more than theirs?"

Zombies wander around the fairground. Rick and Michonne cautiously walk up to it. Michonne notices the walkers in the field are not enclosed. Rick says they need to get the walkers by them first then the ones in the field. He will use a car while Michonne distracts the other eight and kills them with her katana. He knows she can handle eight. Rick gets to the car and finds a zombie through the windshield that grabs at him. He tries to pull it out but only manages to pull off its foot and then its lower body. In the meantime, Michonne kills zombie after zombie. Rick finally manages to pull out the zombie and starts pushing the car. Michonne helps him. Gunfire erupts. One of the soldier zombies gets stuck on some rebar that triggers its gun. Rick and Michonne get trapped in the car that is now surrounded by zombies.

Rick and Michonne climb out of the sun roof and jump over a fence. They start killing zombies that approach the fence but the fence topples under the weight of the zombies and the zombies follow them. Michonne suggests they break them up into smaller groups. Rick says they can just go but he knows they can do this. She knows that they can too. He makes noise to attract some zombies towards him and she takes the other half. They kill zombie after zombie. She has eight more to kill and he has ten. He looks over to his left and sees the deer. He climbs up the Ferris wheel and goes to shoot the deer when he sees a bunch of zombies with their hands tied going towards it. The deer runs away and Rick falls. He shoots at the zombies as Michonne runs to help. She gets there to find a group of zombies gathered around eating what she assumes is Rick. She looks stunned and tears fall. She drops her katana. She shakes her head as several zombies walk towards her. Then Rick pops out of a stand and throws her katana to her. They finish killing off the zombies and she runs towards him. They hug. He still owes her a deer. They pick up gun after gun. Michonne sits in the field and cries as Rick looks on.

As they drive back Michonne looks like she is in shock. Rick looks at her concerned. He stops the van and turns to her. He would have liked to have stayed out a couple of days more. He hasn't been sleeping thinking about what they lost, his friends. How Glenn saved him at the beginning but he couldn't save Glenn. He continues, "We're gonna fight them. That's what happens next. And we're gonna lose people. Maybe a lot of them, maybe even each other. Even then it'll be worth it." Michonne replies, "When I thought that . . . I can't lose you." He says, "You asked me what kind of life we had just surrendering. It wasn't a life. What we did back there, what we're doing now. Making a future for Judith, for Glenn and Maggie's baby. Fighting the fight. That's living. You showed me that. You can lose me. I can lose you. We can lose our friends, people we love. It's not about us anymore. It's about a future. And if it's me that doesn't make it you'll have to lead the others forward because you're the one who can." She asks, "How do you know?" He answers, "Because you led me here."

Jadis inspects the guns. She wants to know if they are operational. She says the 63 guns are not enough. She wants twice as many. Rick says they are keeping ten for themselves. Jadis agrees to nine and the return of the cat statue. Rick says twenty, keep the cat, and they fight together. She agrees. "More soon we fight." Tara looks upset. Michonne wants to know what happens next. They have a few more days. Back at Alexandria Tara runs into Rick leaving her house. He asks if she has seen Rosita who didn't show up for guard duty. He wants to know why she was coming to see him. She says she has something to tell him. Rosita walks through Hilltop and finds Sasha by Abraham's grave. Rosita needs Sasha's help. Sasha says, "One condition. I get to take the shot." Rosita replies,"Okay." Rosita pulls out a sniper rifle so Sasha can take her shot. She tells her that Rick and Michonne found guns but they need more guns and more people. Rosita remembers everything Daryl and Carl said about the Saviors' compound. Sasha got a map from Jesus of the location for Sanctuary. Sasha is ready to kill Negan and wants to know if Rosita knows what that means. For Sasha it means that the Saviors can't catch them alive. Rosita replies, "It's a one-way ticket for both of us." Sasha says, "It is."

Final Thoughts

- They steal pretzels and beers form the golfing Saviors. Those are the same things that Dwight took for Sherrie.
- The candlelight dinner scene between Rick and Michonne was inspired by the end of the movie "Sixteen Candles."
- Yvette Nicole Brown made an interesting point about the conversation that Rick and Michonne have about who takes over after Negan is eliminated. Rick doesn't specifically say he wanted to rule with Michonne, he said he wanted to be with Michonne and share a life with her.
- Car zombie was a nice moment of levity. Michonne kills eight walkers while Rick tries to deal with one.
- I like how both Rick and Michonne are confident in their fighting skills that they didn't doubt that they could kill all of the zombies at the fair.
- I'm really liking Father Gabriel this season so I feel that means he will die by the end of the season. He finally found his place and is speaking truth to Rosita who needs to hear it. Too bad she has turned a deaf ear to him and reason.
- Apparently I was the only one that didn't think it was Rick that the zombies were eating. I just assumed it was the deer. Usually when a main character dies we see them die. They get eaten by zombies like T-Dog.
- Who will die, Rosita or Sasha? Or possibly both. I feel there has been more of a story line for Rosita so I am leaning towards her death. Regardless, it is both stupid and reckless to think that the two of them can destroy Negan. Even if they kill him there are plenty of his Saviors to take his place. After all, they are Negan.
- With only a few episodes left I am assuming we will see Rick meet the group at Oceanside and Sasha and Rosita's disastrous attempt at killing Negan before the big showdown between Rick and Negan. Let's hope that the showdown actually happens this season unlike the showdown between Rick and the Governor.
- Can we really trust Jadis to keep her end of the bargain? How many guns are enough?
- Does anyone care about Heath? Will he be at Oceanside? Or do we just assume he died?

The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 11 "Hostiles and Calamities"

Welcome home, haircut.

Fat Joey lying dead where Daryl left him. Dwight comes up, sees Joey, and then notices that one of the motorcycles is missing. We see Dwight running through Sanctuary. He opens Daryl's cell door and sees that the cell is empty. Meanwhile, Negan and the Saviors return with Eugene. Dwight goes into his bedroom and finds Daryl's clothes lying on the floor. Eugene cries as the Saviors lead him through Sanctuary. One of the Saviors opens the door to a room. It is a nice bedroom with books, TV, and a kitchenette. She tells him, "Welcome home, haircut." Eugene goes to look at some books and she tells him there are more at the library. Dwight finds the note that someone slipped under Daryl's cell. The Savior asks Eugene what he wants to eat. She insists that he can have anything he wants. At first he asks for lobster but then asks for pasta. Eugene locks the door after she leaves. He opens of the fridge and finds it filled with food. He turns on the stereo and "Easy Street" begins to play. He bobs his head to the music. Dwight sits in his room staring at the note. Someone knocks on his door. Several Saviors come in and beat him as Negan watches from the doorway.

Dwight sits in a cell. Negan bangs on the door. When Negan got back from searching for Daryl he noticed that Sherrie was gone. Dwight didn't know. Negan figured out that someone helped Daryl escape. Dwight says it wasn't Sherrie that helped Daryl. Negan wants to know if Daryl broke Dwight. Did Dwight change sides? "After everything. Who are you Dwight?" Dwight responds, "I'm Negan." Negan opens the door. Negan says that Daryl is emotional so he will either go home or come back to kill more Saviors. Negan wants Dwight to bring Sherrie back so they can sort it out. He orders the doctor to patch up Dwight. The doctor thinks Sherrie helped Daryl go because she is soft and has a big heart. Dwight on the other hand gets it and knows how to play the game. Dwight goes back to his room and grabs his bag. He looks up at a fish decoration on the wall and pulls out a pack of cigarettes from the mouth. We see one of the cigarettes has lipstick stains on it. Dwight grabs a motorcycle and looks down at the puddle of Fat Joey's blood before he drives off.

Eugene is shown around Sanctuary by the same female Savior. She tells him about the workers and the point system. He is one of the Saviors not one of the numbered workers. He sees some kid steal some food but doesn't say anything. She tells him, "You want something? You take it, haircut." She grabs a jar of pickles and hands it to him. He is taken outside where Negan is waiting. Negan tells him to say hello and asks him his name. Negan asks, "Who are you?" All the Saviors answer, "I'm Negan." Negan shows Eugene the bullet in Lucille. Negan wants to know if Eugene is a smarty-pants, if he knows things. Eugene tells him he taught himself how to cast bullets. He reads a lot. Negan says, "Oh, you really are just some asshole." Eugene says he is not. He begins to tell him all of the degrees he has and that he worked on the Human Genome Project. A zombie at the fence falls apart. Negan asks Eugene how to keep the zombies on their feet (aka stop them from decomposing). Eugene says they should smelt some iron and cover the zombies in molten metal then they won't fall apart. Negan is impressed. "Not only is it practical it is also bad-ass." Negan wants to give him a bonus. Eugene is happy with the pickles. Negan says he will send him some of his wives tonight. Sex is a no-no but he can share in their company. Eugene smiles as he is walked back to his room.

Eugene plays video games in his room while several wives sit around. One of them, Amber, is getting drunk. Another one, Frankie, asks if he wants a massage. She was a licensed therapist before. He knows that they are not there of their own volition. One of them, Tanya, says she wouldn't mind some intelligent conversation. She wants to talk about the human genome project. Eugene says he can't talk about the work he did. She asks if he could make a bomb out of bleach and a toothpick. He says no and lists the different things he would need to make a bomb. They go outside and Eugene has some latex gloves filled with helium he made out of hydrogen and some other things. A guard comes out but the wives tell him everything is cool and the guard goes back inside. Eugene is one of them now.  Eugene put a beaker with some liquid in it and pours something into it to make it spill over. He then makes the balloons burst into flames with a candle.

Dwight rides up to a house. He calls out Sherrie's name. He picks up a framed photograph of him and Sherrie. Voice over of Sherrie saying if they ever got separated they should meet at the house. He finds an old post it note and compares Sherries writing from the post it and the note to Daryl. It is the same. He finds Sherrie's rings on a note. That is what we hear her saying in the voice over. "You were better than me. I let Daryl go because he reminded you of who you used to be and I wanted you to forget. . . Being there isn't better than being dead, it is worse. . . I loved who you were. I'm sorry I made you into who you are." He pulls out the cigarette with her lipstick on it. He shakes the box and his wedding ring falls out. He pulls out some pretzels and beer from his bag.

Frankie and Tanya knock on Eugene's door. They need his help. Amber just drinks and cries. Amber had to become a wife because her mother needs medicine and can't work. She can't live with it and she asked the other wives to help her end it. She wants to go to sleep and not wake up. He says if she dies in her sleep she will turn into a zombie and put everyone in danger. They say they know he can make something for her because he is a good man. He says he is not good. He then asks how much she weighs. Once he knows her exact weight he will make her something.

Eugene waits in line at Sanctuary. Then he cuts to the front. He asks for some cold capsules. The lady says the line is the line and orders him to the back. He starts to go back then turns around. He demands to know her number. He says he is the new chief engineer and he reports directly to Negan and she reports to his ass. She apologizes and gives him the cold medicine. He also takes a few other things including a bed pan and a crocheted sloth he calls a Gremblygunk. We see him making some tablets for Amber. Dwight gets examined by the doctor. The doctor asks if he found Sherrie. Dwight says he killed Sherrie. The doctor says, "We don't get to have big hearts. Remember that." Dwight gets taken down to where the people of Sanctuary and the Saviors are gathered by the open furnace. They all bow down to Negan. Negan tells Eugene to play close attention. Negan hits the doctor with Lucille. He pulls out a piece of the note Sherrie left for Dwight. He says he found it in the doctor's desk. He accuses the doctor of letting Daryl go. He says that Sherrie told Dwight everything before she died and Dwight told Negan. The doctor insists that Dwight is lying. Negan believes Dwight. Dwight pulls the iron from the fire and hands it to Negan. The doctor begs Negan not to hurt him. Eugene turns his head but the Savior forces him to look. The doctor admits he did it and apologizes to Negan. Negan steps back and says all he had to say was sorry. Negan looks up at Eugene and then grabs the doctor and pushes him into the furnace fire. Negan says it's good thing they have a spare doctor, referring to Eugene.

Eugene plays video games. Someone knocks on his door. Frankie and Tanya come in and ask if he is okay. He says he is fine. One of them asks if he made the pills. He says he did but they can't have them. He won't give them the pills because he knows they were planning to use them on Negan. They say they will tell Negan he made them to kill Negan. He says Negan will believe him over them because they are replaceable and he is not. Tanya calls him a coward. He replies, "That is a correct assessment." They leave. He eats a pickle. Someone knocks on his door. He opens the door and Negan stands there with Lucille. He asks Eugene if he likes it at Sanctuary. He says he doesn't invite everyone to be one of his Saviors. "You do not have to scared anymore. You just have to answer one question. Who are . . ." Eugene answers "I'm Negan" before Negan can even finish asking the question. The next morning Eugene stands eating a pickle and ordering some men how to pour molten iron on the zombies. Dwight joins him. Dwight asks if Eugene is on board. Dwight responds, "I'm Eugene. You're Dwight. We are Negan."

Final Thoughts
- For right now I think Eugene is acting loyal to Negan to survive. We know he is smart and a good liar and he uses those assets to survive. He was scared and Negan basically told him by being a Savior he doesn't have to scared anymore.
- How long will it be before he gets rescued? Will he get rescued?
- The success of Rick's attack on Negan will depend on how soon it happens and whether or not Dwight starts manufacturing bullets for the Saviors before the attack. With an endless supply of bullets the Saviors don't have to worry about how many guns their opponents have. It won't matter.
- It was sad to see hear Sherrie's note and see that Dwight did remember. He remembered to meet her at their old home and to bring pretzels and beer.
- It was not very smart of Negan to kill the doctor. Yes, he believes that Eugene is also a doctor but in the zombiepocalypse there is no such thing as too many doctors. Not to mention none of the degrees Eugene listed where medical degrees. He can know a  lot about bacteria without knowing how to stitch up a wound or deliver a baby.
- What will happen to Sherrie? She is out there alone. Negan can still find her if she is not careful. He says he believes Dwight but I'm not sure that means to he believes him about Sherrie's death. I don't know what Daryl would do if he found her. He doesn't know she helped him escape and the last time they met he offered her a place at Alexandria and she and Dwight stole his stuff.
- Sherry's note to Dwight: "D, We always said if we got separated I should come back here and wait for you. You'd show up with beer and pretzels. You remember that? I know, you probably don't. You always said that when we started dating, You forgot to tell me you had a shitty memory. You used to get so frustrated by it, knowing you wouldn't remember those good days . . . those special days. I felt bad for you. I remember you said there was so much you wanted to hold on to and then it'd be gone. But you're lucky you don't remember things, D. I wish I could wait for you now. But I don't know if you'd come with me or if you'd take me back there or you'd kill me. You didn't want to live in that world, and I made you. I did what I did because I didn't want you to die. But now you've killed, and you've become everything you didn't want to be and it's my fault. You were better than me. Most people are. I let Daryl go because he reminded me of who you used to be. And I wanted to let you forget. I don't think I'm gonna make it out here, but you're wrong. Being there isn't better than being dead. It's worse. I hope you realize that. I hope you get away. I hope you remember the good days, even just one of them, but I don't think you will. I don't think you'll ever read this. I loved who you were. I'm sorry I made you into who you are. Goodbye. Honey."
